Can we please stop biting with the league into monday and wednesday scheduled pick-ups at newington ? Or at least let's try to avoid it as much as we can.
We're gonna end up playing our fixtures but overall being shit players due to lack of pick-up practice.
Maybe arrange to finish work early that day if you have no other choice and finish the game by the time the pick-ups start. Otherwise it's just not fair on everyone else.

Or just play the fixtures when it's raining ;)

Come to Herne Hill on Sunday, Agata...
League games are BANNED there... ;)

I agree with this.
One of the main objectives of the league is to get people playing through winter but as past and current experience shows, players starts showing up less at throw ins. Also when league games are played on the same night and location, the other players gets very little court time, I don't mind reffing but getting 2 games in 3 hours is not what I expected, at least not at Newington.
Can we please stop biting into monday and wednesday scheduled pick-ups at newington?

it just seems unfair to non-league players, or those who are not reffing or playing in that particular fixture.
People have their lives often arranged to fit those silly pick-ups in their schedule, so we don't really have the right to take up the night for our fixture. Let's work around it instead. -

I was speaking to a beginner last night who turned up on Tuesday and only got one throw-in because of the league game that was happening...
If you wanna play at Newt, do it on a non throw-in night...

Agreed. Victor posted Westway's next league game in the league thread for next Tuesday, without even bothering to ask on the beginners thread if it was alright. Not cool.
There are four other nights of the week that league games can be played at Newington. And obviously all day during the weekend.
Hackney Downs costs a tenner for an hour of lights = £1.66 each for your league game. -

So there is a beginner's polo south on tuesdays ???
Wow, maybe we all really should stick to that " court booking" calendar thingy, sounds like a much-needed idea.( victor's game is with our team. Sorry beginners, we should have asked if this is your day )

Oh, the irony...
-
• #15773
hahahah I know, right !
Still think we should schedule games on nights off at the courts.
Thought tuesday was one of the free ones, but it turns out that not. -
• #15774
That's two Tuesdays on the trot so not very cool...
Make sure you wait for the second court to be free so the beginners can play! :P

might just do that.
This is on tonight.
Can anyone ref this...please?
