Fiona - clocks go back this weekend. It'll be fine next week.
Thinking about this, the time the lights go off, the clock, the number of hours between a switch off, the 'actual time' they go off now, etc etc is giving me a headache. My girlfriend maintains that next week the lights will go off at 8:30pm. I seem to vaguely remember the same conundrum from last year, but everything working itself out, so I put a fiver bet on it with her that they'd go off at 10:30 next week.
So even if they do go off at 8:30, all I need to do is talk to the council and get them to change it back... hee hee...

OKAY FINE DOUBLEPOST MAGIC FIX.
Kev read what I said, basically, we're fucked from next week unless we can gett he council to acknowledge they've not only screwed up where the lights think BST is, but they got it the wrong way round and the lights are meant to go back with the clocks, not forward.

Your pre-edited post said clocks will go off at **89:30 **so it wasnt clear whether you were being serious or not...
But you think next week after the clocks go back, they'll go off at 8:30pm?
I cant work it out. I'm already wasting enough time on this forum instead of working. If they're out of sync next Monday night I'll get in touch with the lighting engineer crew at Southwark.

just think of it as labelling Kev.
When the sun goes down we label that time 9pm. For instance.
But next week the labels all go back one number. So when it goes dark the label will have to say 8pm.
