Sorry to resusitate this thread, but I find a strange affection for the title. Go figure.
Now.....what should I do next?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Tis a puzzlement.
Don't do it, resist the urge!! :)
I'd vote for a Chrome, or even one of them Pac ones.
Cheap like, off of them Rollapaluza rascals! Believe they still have a few knocking around? -

Bailey bag, by far the best. Chromes are pretty good and I thought the timbuk2s were awful, so uncomfy.

Am seriously considering a custom bag from seagull bags stateside.... adoubletap has one and I was most impressed, they start at £65 (ish) for the standard black bag then go up to about £200 for the top end fully customised (with pretty much any design you want).

I hate my timbuk2. It's terrible compared to a real messenger bag.

Have a Chrome Messenger and loving it. Comfy and a reasonable size and keeps my stuff nice and dry in the terrible British weather!

I used my green Timbuk 2 for 13 years of couriering. It was held together with elastic bands and electrical tape by the end. We had some good times together. Nah, actually it was all crap.
Now I have a Pac bag which is lovely. And big. I may end up living in it if I drop any further behind with my rent.
There are one or two ethical questions about Timbuk factories. As Krusty said of his own clothing line "Made for kids by kids and we pass the slavings on to you". -

If u only want a bag to carry a laptop, theres a load of computer shops that do bags now, that dont look like ur typical laptop bag, more like a sporty rucksack.
I know us couriers look good with our custom made Scott bags, n PAC's, bagaboo's, n Chromes, but most have these bags because we have to carry shit loads of heavy boxes, every day for miles.
After slogging in the rain everyday, u learn that only the best is good enough, so why not have it!!!
If ur not a courier and not likely to be carrying heavy loads often, just go to any good cycle shop and by a normal cycle bag, no specialist bag required!!! -

Gosh.
I hope you have this sorted after 2 years though.
Ed, you should mention its a timbuk2 for the less knowledgeable readers.. ha!
