Situation update: they agreed to compensate for my expenses for missing parts - matchmaker x clamp adapter, olives & insert pins, mounting bolts.
Quite satisfied with customer support after all.

Wiggle > tracking information > ‘package sent by hermes’
Fuck me, if i wanted this level of service i’d buy some rapha
-
• #556
Hermes just abandoned a package in an empty flower pot outside my house yesterday then claimed I signed for it.
-
• #557
You can just say you didn’t receive it and then they pay for a new one?
-
• #558
I bought some Rapha from Wiggle...and got Hermes 'delivery' service...
Good job the area around my bins is clean and out of sight
-
• #559
Well, much to my surprise my package turned up - in the post, not the bins - and wiggle have stuffed up my order. I asked for one of their cheapest brake cables and got a whole box, lol

is Hermes really that much cheaper compared to RM or DPD for compaines? I love my local DPD drivers, they always wait and even have time for a cheeky chat sometimes...

Have you ever chosen an online supplier based on 5p or less price difference? Everybody who has ever done that is to blame for suppliers nickel & diming the choice of carrier.

Depends if they're sending out over £250,000 worth of shipping then they'll have to tender it, which is how such terrible contractors are acquired as cost generally outweighs service.
-
• #563
They would if they're the national government, a local authority or a public body. However, since Wiggle are none of the above the public tender threshold of £250,000 (which I believe has been increased) doesn't apply to them. As a private company, they can choose whoever they like to use as a courier.

Hermes depends entirely on the individual who happens to cover your area. We’re lucky in that it’s a local lady who lives round the corner who we’re on first name terms with so she’ll never leave anything that seems particularly valuable unattended and knows exactly where to leave the stuff that isn’t that’s out of sight.
They get paid 70-80p per delivery, obviously the more unscrupulous amoungst them are going to bend/break the rules. It’s no wonder that so many people have issues with them considering..

I've got a bike from Wiggle/CRC, and the frame cracked twice, and the first time I sent the bike back and they sent a replacement (2) that was exactly the same, which was fine, but then that one cracked in a different place. So then I sent that one back and the returned (3) one that was the wrong size and a different colour, I told them I wasn't happy about the colour nor the size, so I sent that back... So bike 4 arrives right size, wrong colour. So does anyone know where I stand legally with this, as TBH I'm sick of dealing with this? I don't want the bike if it isn't aesthetically pleasing, I don't feel confident that it isn't going to crack, and also over the course of 2 years I've been without the bike for 3 months.

Depends a bit on the time scale. When did you receive the most recent iteration?

I originally bought the bike in December 2016, and then I received this one on Monday.

Does anyone know if the Wiggle platinum discount applies to these?
-
• #569
You can reject the latest one as being "not as described", but they can at their discretion send you another one which is as described (i.e. the right colour). They might not be able to do that economically, and you can't insist that they do, but their only other option is to take it back and give you a full refund, unless you voluntarily make an alternative offer which is better for you and which they also prefer.
You might have a case that the amount of time it has taken for them to replace the bike is unreasonable and you should get a full refund for that reason, but that's a matter of argument rather than being cut-and-dried as the other options are. -

Comes up as 749 on my platinum
-
• #571
I thought as much. Same as non-platinum.
-
• #572
Bit of a poor show really - Comes up as £749.99 on my account listed as 'your platinum price' but it's the same when you are not logged in at all, but just listed as 'save 11%'

Does anyone know if the Wiggle platinum discount applies
Your personal discount applies to the list price, if the discount offer for everybody is already more than that then you don't get any further discount. In this case, the general discount is 11.8%, so if you're a Platinum customer you should get a further 0.2% off, i.e you should pay £747.99. If you're logged in with your platinum credentials and it's still showing as £749.99, that's down to a coding error and you should complain, assuming you can be arsed to do so over £2
Also, loyalty discounts apply to "most" products, and Garmin pedals seem to be one of the things not included in "most" -

Platinum price £749.99
You probably shopped around and went with Wiggle as they were best on price? There's a reason for that.
As Tester says, it's oem kit rather than retail kit. Being OEM kit doesn't excuse the missing clamp though of course but you've been compensated for that so...
Also looks like you got an adapter (+20mm is-is?) which you're contents list says isn't included so, you know, ups and downs.
