I'm a millennial and have used JD Whisker's black and white photocopied catalogue just last year 🙂

Wiggle stocks Rapha now?
-
• #1554
Because it’s Evans Cycles.
-
• #1555
Like, it’s literally taking the stocks from Evans and putting it on Wiggle.

I think it just goes into one big stock system and appears to be in stock in lots of different outlets.
For example, as someone upthread pointed out, handlebars on sale through House of Fraser. But not all of Ashley's outlets sell all of the stock, there's still some exclusivity.
Ashley specialises in buying distressed brands and gathering a bunch of stock to sell off cheaply, or continuing to sell certain brands (Dunlop, Karrimor, etc) as almost loss leaders for the branded stuff (Nike, etc) where there's much more of a margin.
Buying Wiggle gets him a lot of new customers, and many who haven't shopped there in the last few weeks will have little or no idea that the company is now in new hands. Meanwhile he can save a load of cash by using the existing logistics parts of his other businesses.

Bold move to the relaunch and have no inner tubes whatsoever

Is rapha one of the distressed brands or?
-
• #1560
Haven’t they posted £20mil+ loses the last few years?
-

It’s actually because the patent expired in January 2020 and that’s why there was a sudden explosion of hubs on Aliexpress with ratchets made by Ztto and a few others. It’s also why there are a few more legitimate companies making hubs with ratchet drives now.
Just got this email from Hunt!

How are the rest of the DHB tangerine army getting on?
I've worn mine a few times in this cold 'spring', both as an outer layer and as a mid layer. Both have been great.
The lack of back pockets is a minus point but that is ameliorated by the double ended zip that makes accessing jersey pockets quite easy.
All good

Weirdly finding it too warm at the moment after it being too cold when I first purchased, very orange though.

It wasn't too warm this morning at 0545!
But yep lt is toasty.

I’m fully over this never ending late winter
-
• #1567
Mine is being worn most days for its intended purpose, mid layer under a motorbike jacket for the morning commute. Have also worn it out on the bike. Prefer it as a motorbike mid layer to a cycling outer shell and it’s kept the edge off on some very chilly days when the leathers on the outside are very cold to the touch.

Not DHB tangerine crew but in similar end of days wiggle bargains, the Castelli RoS 2 was a godsend at 5c at 0700 this morning. Completely comfortable for 50 miles. Happy days.

never ending late winter
Sweet summer child (adult), we’ll cling to winter in the next few years when summer means 40C wet bulb temps for days on end.

You’re a wet bulb

Pockets would have been great, agree. Was lovely on my night ride the other day. Very much an Albion ultralight rip off. Just less compact.

Anyone got a spare Prime SR1D hub or matching shimano freehub?
They were selling lots off for cheap - I'm happy to pay a touch above whatever they were selling for as I'm quite desperate. -
• #1574
You mean the SR freehub body? I have one i could probably part with - do you have the ratchet pawls as they don't come with them, only the freehub body and bearings etc. maybe if you have sram you can take it out of that?
iirc someone in the deals thread tried a dt swiss that matched so maybe their pawls would work if not. dm me if of use

Does anyone have a REAR Prime Primavera 56 disc brake wheel they would prefer to sell?
Maybe a long shot but maybe might help someone out.
