Routesheeted, Googlemapped.
That's me fooked then. :)
Nah, I'm up for anything. Riding with someone who isn't constantly lost makes it easier. Also, if there's a bunch faster than me then I'd try and hang on.

Me too, normally. But I know Essex a bit by now and the route is really quite straightforward.

People pretty much stayed together until just before North Hill last time, and the reason why it all frayed was because everybody started to go at their own speed to get to the caff because of the heavens opening. The return leg was several different groups as speed differentials were beginning to show more clearly. You will find a good group to go with if you're keen on it.

And if he doesn't, I certainly do.

Wild Wales Challenge has just opened up. I've had a look at the route and it looks to be the typical knee-breaker. I know this isn't a proper sportive but 90 miles of North Wales hills in a day is pretty challenging.

You should have your events in your calendar/blackberry/whatever. So for people looking to enter new events it makes sense to show the ones that aren't sold out. But, hey it's your post.
I just use this: http://www.cyclosport.org/events2009.aspx
Ahhh nice one hippy, I was going to ask you about this.

From the Dave Lloyd MEGA guys: Cumbrian Killer, 20th Sep
http://www.davelloydmegachallenge.com/default.aspx?id=42I think June is too big for me so I'm probably gonna drop the Dave Lloyd MEGA. This might be a good alternative since I think it's the same sort of area: Lakes District, Cumbria.. oop there ^^ anyway.

Yes. I'm getting the train from Wimbledon though. I will be in Rolla kit as will be a fair few other RLPZers. I hope.

Surrey Rumble was a a good ride out. Nothing too demanding. Good stretch of the legs. Good signing except in one spot (which was then corrected before the others came through. Only took that one wrong turning. Good to see so many RPLZ cc and Grupetto making a splash. (Shame about all the triathletes.) Bring on Burgess Hill!

Good report hippy. You have, sadly, exposed the typo on my certificate ;o)
5:14 was my real time. Not too bad having taken one wrong turn. Considerably better than last year.

hehe sshhhhh you're not supposed to draw attention to that until the Rolla peeps pay me out for being beaten by a guy (twice?) my age. :)

Meh. After all the mucking around getting hold of an entry, I couldn't make it.
Steve, is the 100km Grimpeur entry available on the day?

Anyone else do the Puncheur? Was brutal, ending on Ditchlin Beacon.....
-
• #648
hippy achieved a highly commendable 19th place out of 124 finishers and I managed a (for a fat old man) respectable 68th place. What with a reasonable tme in the drag sprints, not a bad weekend for me.
hippy, I am only 22 years older than you.
