• Days, week, same thing.. L2P is 3.5 weeks later.
I saw the Cheshire Cat ride. Looks good but too far away. I'm saving the rides up north (and maybe Dragon Ride) for next year.

• yeh, these far away rides are bit costly. ill consider the chiltern ride. cheap and fairly easy to get to.

• Consider quickly dude, the team entries filled up super quick.. http://www.chiltern-hundred.org.uk/

• Yeah, might do. Probably as an individual though, I wouldn't want to let the side down!

• I entered indiv. Teams are full up anyway (and you need 6 people).

You two are still more than welcome to tow me around the course.. ;)

• done. im in

• Christ, what have I let myself into......

Apart from an argument with the missus. Grrrrrr.

• Indeed.

• I've signed up for the Chiltern too. Hope that's ok-- you guys can always ignore me.
I've also signed up for the Dragon Ride. Who else is doing that here? Anyone want to find some way to collaborate to cut down on costs?

• Looks like Ed and I are riding from Ealing to the start in Great Missenden. fuzzbrain, after Wessex, I'm going to be ignoring pretty much everything that's not food or my stem. Grovel pant whine grovel suffer cry grovel etc.

• Kent Invicta Grimpeur 100
Organised by bmmf. Are there still places available for this, bmmf? Anyone else fancy this?

• i'm up for that. is it a proper audax ride or a sportive or what? i'm confused. i'm off to ventoux at the end of april so need more hills.

oh, and the chilterns ride too. the mid fondo though.

• It's an audax, but I think it's quite popular with sportive riders -- primarily because of the difficulty. It takes in all the most difficult hills in a 50km loop around Sevenoaks (including Yorks hill) -- for the 100km ride you do the loop in the opposite direction the second time around.

• good prep for ventoux then.

i'll sign up.

You mean fixedwheelnut.

• hippy
You mean fixedwheelnut.

Doh!

• Yep that be one of mine :)
You can enter on the line but it is chaos so better to enter early, 1700m of climbing on the 100km Grimpeur route, 850m on the 50km Hilly.

Out of Otford up Rowdow hill, down Exedown, up over Ightam Mote, up One Tree Hill, down River Hill, up Hubbards Hill, down Baileys and then up Yorks before heading back to Otford.
If you ride the 100km you go back in reverse and go down all the hills you went up and up the ones you went down.

I route checked it on 68" fixed and had to walk Yorks and One Tree hill they have 1 in 4 sections and almost walked Exedown, most who ride it fixed do it on a low sixty gear, I know I will the next time I try it.
180 entrants last year with 138 of them on the 100km ride.

Tea and biscuits free at the start and through the day, cheese or ham rolls usually 15p each any fancy dietary requirements tell me or best bring something with you :)

You're welcome to crash at mine...

• fuzzbrain
hippy
You mean fixedwheelnut.

Doh!
Yeah, I'll ride this type of thing, but even I'm not sick enough to foist it on other people.

If I can get a day pass, I'd quite like to join the lfgss bunch...

• thanks for the offer platini. a march sportive seems too soon now based on my current shape. nearly cramped up commuting in today..haha. ill keep an eye out for other sportives up there for later in the year

ill stick to shorter reliability rides for now...like Kent Invicta Grimpeur 100. who's in? that's a lot of climbing for 100kms =S ill get a tow bar and stick it to BMMF's bike im sure he wont mind

• I'm gonna send in my form for the Grimpeur today. Is a list in order?

Kent Invicta Grimpeur:

1. fuzzbrain (rob)
2. pj
3. fatboyralph

Any of you Kent mavens up for the Sydenham Wheelers reliability ride this Sunday? pj? sam? The ice worry is giving me some cold feet (see Colapaluza thread), but I suppose if you make sure you're not one of the first starters any icy spots will have been found out by the time you get to them.

• I'm out, in Egypt, climbing pyramids and trying to swap Mal for a camel..

• Haven't touched the road bike since that dreaded day last month. Great training!!

And, to be honest, I probably won't now until the end of March. Football season is coming to a close and am pushing for promotion and in a cup semi final (yes there are other sports rather than cycling!!!).

• If you plan riding the Grimpeur on fixed the regular guys that do generally use a low sixty inch gear :)
