dogsballs be careful making big comments on a forum ;)
I tried to be as diplomatic as possible and made positive comments, as well as placing blame on myself for dropping the allan key and highlighting that i was being picky... but perhapse it's always going to be hard to be totally objective when it directly effects you. I just wanted to share my experience and feelings - hence the 'think twice...' comment and not a 'don't use...' comment

Aw baw bags. Was just in the process of booking my frame into get re-sprayed at Coloure-tech via Witcomb. This has all put me off the idea. I'm well careless, so may need to re think on the powder coating then.

Got a bike done by this chap.
Sourced some decals for me. The ones I got off of http://www.hlloydcycles.com/ turned in out a bit small and didn't have wings on.
Turn around about 5 or 6 weeks, he went on holiday during this time too.

Three months for Colour Tech to do a simple respray of a frame only. THREE MONTHS!!! I'd booked it through De Ver Cycles when buying the new frame and finally, when I'd got sick of sending countless emails, I rang Colour Tech myself who then had the gall to lie to me that the reason it was taking so long was because they were still waiting for De Ver to let them know what colour I wanted (a complete fib). I've not seen the end result yet either, but at least it's back with De Ver. Wish I'd gone to Armourtex all along.

I just found this thread, and I wished I'd found it before sending my frame to colour-tech.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Quoted timeframe totally inaccurate, when I called to get an update I was repeatedly lied to - it'll be ready by X, only to ring back on X to find out "it'll be ready by Y"... ad nauseum.
Perfectly helpful UNTIL he has your frame, then as far as he's concerned you cease to exist.

Has anyone had any good experiences here recently?
Mercian did a really good job on mine, pick-up and deliver is well handy, and Jane (at mercian's paint shop) was really helpful all the way through the process. Only downside is that it took 7ish weeks (they said 4 at the start of the renovation). But the one resprayer was ill and the other had a death in the family, shit happens. Was totally worth the wait though.
