Nice pair of glasses that you can normally pick up from the pub:

Anti fog spray, good tip. I think you can get them for motorbike visors too.
Yarp. Bob Heath anti mist spray is what you mean. Speedo goggle stuff is better though, inasmuch as it lasts longer IME.

You'll have to try a few different pairs to see how they fit around your face. Different strokes for different folks.
In this weather though expecting glasses to not fog up is expecting too much.

got a snow flake in my eye today, and i'm not joking i couldn't open my eye for a few mins.
So clear glasses for me tomorrow. Not often i wear them, only in peak summer, and darksest coldest winter do i ever find the need.
i use some Endura ones i got for £10.I well and truly do not see what benefits a £200 Oakley glasses can make, but i'm open to exactly why you may think they are.
All i want and need is a barrier between the elements and my eyes. Job done.

They don't fog, are unobtrusive to vision, light, comfortable and come with very good vented lenses which also protect you from bad things.
I have several pairs of £10 (and £50 Ray Ban's ((not cycling ones))) and could not wear them for more than 10 mins as they were everything the oakley's aren't.
Plus i didnt even pay half of your quoted price :D
p.s I experienced the snow flake eye and it almost wiped me out, couldnt see for 10 mins, couldnt ride for 15, not good when you are running late to go and watch Just a Minute at the Beeb.

We've done this already, Bolle safety for £6-7.00

what she said.I'd like some non sporty ('douchebag looking') ones

Sports glasses look the way they do for a reason.

Bolle safety, some ear defenders and a hard hat. You're a bike riding builder.

+1
Buy them for what they do, not how they look.

I got some oakley jawbones with antifog iridium and clear lenses, they are unbelievably light and comfortable (you barely realise they are on) and have fantastic lenses.
Probably worth the money if you can get them on a deal, i got mine pretty cheap.
So long as you dont mind looking like a douchebag when you are out on rides.
I got some of them but think you're safe on rides, just don't wear them off them bike.

Cheers, I guess I'll just stick with the Endura ones as different lenses are handy for snow, sun and track, even if I do look like a bell.

I can vouch for the bolle ones off ebay if you're into clear lenses. 6-7 pounds a go.

I work in a lab and just use my bolle lab specs.

Can vouch for these. Last ones I got (2 pairs) were photochromic for the same price - bargainous indeed, they're great.

Can you use this stuff on normal glasses?? Would really help as my glasses steam up whenever i walk into a warm building (the pub)
If it does, this stuff is a revelation to me.

got me some bolle ones from the internetz last night - look forward to having less shit in my eyes.
Re the whole Oakley debate - sure they can't compare to £7 safety glasses, but Oakley lenses really are top top quality - my eyes feel more relaxed and comfortable behind Oakley sunglasses or ski goggles than behind any other brands lenses. I've tried and owned a lot of others, but now all I buy is Oakley (apart from my work glasses - which have Nikon anti-glare lenses in and are the nuts).
I just couldn't justify the cost for something I'll only ever wear when it's snowing or raining really hard at night. I wish I could though :)

Any tips on scoring such a deal? I've been looking for a while and nowhere seems to do Jawbones cheaply.

Sorry my crappy vision offends. Prick.
chill out Mattty - if you read his post carefully Mr Cheese is just talking about people who cycle with non-prescription lenses.. not those of us who have problems with their eyesight.
Sheesh - whats going on with this place at the moment, everyone is SO touchy?

5 or 6 pairs of prescription oakleys - brilliant. warrantee is amazing too, i snapped my 10 year of frogskins in two and oakley sent me new ones!
i am obsessed with glasses though as i have to wear them every day to see.. i must have 30 or 40 pairs

It's a very very mild abrasive so may damage any coatings you have on the lenses. I use it on mine with no real issues.

Last time I got new lenses in my prescription glasses I shelled out for the expensive anti fog coating and it is awesome. Fogs up like normal when you enter a warm building but clears in a few seconds.
Christs, I thought this thread might scrape through without controversy...
Anti fog spray, good tip. I think you can get them for motorbike visors too.
I'd like some non sporty ('douchebag looking') ones with the different colour lenses, on the cheaper side but I guess that's not going to happen.
Glasses in the snow stops those evil icy darts in the eye. Win.
