Sunglasses

Normally I buy £5 sunglasses from the Afghanis in Camden, but since it's winter nobody seems to be selling them any more.

Question : Where to find a sunglasses stall in London? I'm not spending more than £10 since they will either brake or I will misplace them, and what's a pair of sunglasses anyway?

I got some from ProBikeKit online. £15 for 5-lens jobbies.

They don't have to be cycling sunglasses.

If anybody comes across one of those stalls, please let me know.

@hippy - is that the 'Motion' style? How are they ie. airflow/steaming, high enough at the front without craning neck all day, comfy nose/ears, etc?

A positive recommendation might see PBK get another sale :)

That's a coincidence - I just ended up buying Bolle Contour ESP glasses from an ebay seller £6.50 + £1.20 postage. Bargain.

Ah, that's the stuff!! I used to wear safety glasses racing back home. Fsck paying $200 for a pair of sunnies! $10 from Bunnings thank you very much! Yellow pair for winter/night, dark tint for summer.
Unfortunately I couldn't find cheap safety sunnies here so I went PBK. The ones I have suit me fine, but I'm a tightarse that doesn't give a rats about finer design points and kinda get on with things.. other than building bikes of course (beating dogsballs to saying it). I'm not sure PBK do my style any more and to be honest, since my first order their fscking site has failed to work properly so they've missed out on £££'s.
I had a look bmmf and ProRace is written on the case. I think there were two styles of these so not sure which I have. Um, they steam up but so does most stuff.. I've stopped wearing them for a while to see how I go. When it rains they were getting hard to see through so I just stopped putting them on. The only point I INSIST on having in my sunnies other than clear/yellow lenses is no bottom or side frame - having one fscks my peripheral vision and blocks out that car that just ran over you..

Err you could go to H&M and buy some for a fiver or so. If you go to the women's only store past oxford circus they have a good range of colours and styles... if you want them. Why do you want sunglasses in this godawful weather anyway?

I want low tint/clearish ones:

• to stop my eyes watering in the cold air, or when I'm doing more than 40mph downhill.
  
• to protect my eyes from particles, insects, or grit thrown up by traffic. There are cases of lost eyesight amongst cyclists, and I know someone who suffered pretty severe ocular trauma out on the road.
  
• to enhance contrast so that I've got more chance of making out road irregularities at speed in suspect/changeable light coditions.
  
• to stop me squinting, or my eyes drying out, giving me pensioner's eyes in my boyish face :p

Not really BMMF.. glasses are sensible and safety-wise unstudied, so there be no debate.
Plus they don't mess your hair so no one in this vain city actually cares about them enough to argue :)

No, not really, but they don't have to be cycling ones, any ones will do.

Also, sunglasses are one of the few things you really have to try before you buy. You have no idea that they suit you until you see them on your face.
