Building up my new hubs and I really don't want to go down the 'not quite the right tool but it will do' road. I know it's possible to use a pair of forks but I really don't want to make my first wheel build anymore complicated than it should be.

Just get the spoke length right -1mm for 3x and you're done. Arup's website has some good tips and Sheldon is my Co-Pilot as Prav would put it.

Ok, I think I will get all the spokes in place on Monday and then wait for you return Ved for the final true. I really hope I got the right spoke length, we shall see.

all my fuck ups have been because of hasty spoke calcs, take your time. Lenni's spoke calcs is ace.

Spokes are already bought and sitting in my drawer, waiting to pick up the rim on Monday.
