Ask him if there will be room for the stand next to your desk, and if there is a tools allowance in expenses...

Slight confusion: I'm going to interview them on their work with young people and alcohol. I have *experience *in that field see. Not that I'm technically young anymore. Conveniently Edinburgh Cycles is just on the posh side of my journey across town.

Oh I'm in Edinburgh on Monday, can anyone recommend any good bike shops I could visit on my way back to Waverley?
The co-op are legendarily useless, and in honesty most serious riders in Edinburgh avoid them the same way we Londonders avoid Evans.
If you were heading up that way though, there's the excellent road shop Velo Ecosse at 25-28 Bruntsfield Place (pretty much diagonally across the links from EBC), Bike Trax just off the main Tollcross junction on your way up to the two above (small, but with a nice selection of classic stuff like Brooks and Ortleib), and MacDonald cycles on Morrison Street just down from the conference centre (mostly mountain bikes, but they've got a bunch of NOS Raleigh frames above your head in the long room, and there's a bit of a clothing / allsorts room toward the back of the shop with some NOS time trial frames and Shamals last time I was there).
Slightly off the beaten track are The Bike Chain on Rodney St near Tollcross (again, MTB focus but say hello to Tim the manager if you go in, he's great) and The Bike Station out on Causewayside which has the most amazing stock of old stuff - they may have fixie stuff, give them a call if you're planning on paying a visit (0131 668 1996)
Wow, after all that I wish I was coming with you....

Cripes! that's a list and a half. I'll have to make an excuse to go back up (well I'm in Glasgow next week, and its not that far between the two). I'll see what the hole in the wall says on the way home. Cheers Simon!

Thanks for the heads up - I thought co-op= good, and extrapolated that a larger one would be better.. D'oh!

Sadly due to 'plastic on the overhead lines' it took me an extra hour and a half to get to Edinburgh yesterday, so I didn't get to check out any shops. Leith Walk has changed a bit though. Anyway, due to pretending to be asleep on the way back, i've now got an Edin > London one way ticket valid until Feb 6th if anyone wants it?

hael, the tickets yours. I was hoping to go back up to Edinburgh in the next month, but there's no way I can feasibly do it. Besides I'm going to glasgow and that's already paid for. How do you want to get the ticket? Whisper me a postal address? Or depending on the location of West End beers?

I'm coming again... Any easties fancy going and helping me smash up a posh westie pub?
hael/snowy again - I could pick the ticket it up and drop it through the door of your work on the way home (in an envelope, of course...)

dudes I'm in, I'm off to brick lane to buy an 1/8th 18t sprocket, anyone got a chain whip and lock ring tool they can bring along that I can borrow for a week or so to swap them over, since my tool kit comprises of a multi tool, some tyre levers and a pump.
If you can it would be appreciated.
If I'm late I'm a pint of orange juice and lemonade... ;-P
Hmm, tempting. I've just changed my train times, so I get to spend a bit more time up there, not been up for six months or so. Do you think its acceptable to turn up to an interview with a new workstand strapped over your shoulder?
