Hmmm...
Bored of work but don't want to be at pub on own.
What to do? -
• #18529
Dissertation due tomorrow which means no more deadlines which means every Thursday night is now free for the Pear Tree!
EPIC

Having a hangover already means... finish too early urgh
-
• #18532
On my way early having been abandoned. Apparently finishing MSc work is more important than drinks :(

Good to see the big gaffer, as well as putting a hat to a beard. Nice to meet you Ms Bendix and Miss hoefla. As for the rest of you, well you're the rest of you!

I actually made it home without getting too lost which is a first. Thanks for the directions Murtle. Good to see everyone and meet the people I hadn't met. That pub is nice, good work.

2 untruths,
getting home from wests without getting lost - it does not even happen to any of the regulars
good directions from Murtle - no one understands a word he says (or there is an implicit 3rd lie that you actually could comprehend him, instead you thought you did and navigated yourself home(whilst getting lost)) -

Yes, nice evening. Better burgers than Souths. Entertaining flash-Harry property-developer local of largesse.

^^I got lost on the way to wests (I zigged when I should have zagged) but made it home ok. Though I did have a print out of the route with me (all 11 pages of it thanks to google's ocd) so that may count as cheating and disqualify me.
I'll hazard a guess that tricitybendix was the perplexed young lady I passed in the side alley as I was leaving. I did exactly the same thing when I was looking to lock up with the bikes down there until I realised the alley turned a corner at the end.
was nice to meet lots of new faces and some new-ish ones too (apologies for the second introduction mr theoryswine, it was the hat that threw me).
until next time (but probably not next week)

I said this, but the landed gentry at Souths wouldn't have any of it. I thought their burgers tasted of dirt and sawdust.

Burgers: You get what you pay for.

is there going to be a move to the river if this weather starts to settle in? it was a nice joint last week, no doubt about it.. but it's nice to get out by the river with the longer evenings. just wondering.

And yes, he's an 18 carat cunt.

Ask Murts. The Crabtree had a huge issue with us bringing bikes through to the garden last year and they have a ridiculous "no noise" policy. I say if you bought a house opposite a boozer, then noise at chucking out time is just something you have to deal with. Alternatively, if you must insist on living in that part of Fulham, just go and find another one hundred and fifty large.
Simples.

^^Isn't he. Never seen him before. I quite like his chutzpah, but he bent my ear about property-development, Saudi Royalty, wads of cash, fast women, glamour, cocaine and scrabble too much. And getting his leg-over with the barmaid. I thought he was a film character/living installation.

• #18544
Interesting, because she shudders everytime he orders a glass of house red.
-
• #18545
Was he this guy?
-
• #18546
No, that's a different bloke. As 'swine says, this one's like a cardboard cut-out cunt. A right Larry Large Nuts. I quote:
"That was a great conversation about me, lets have a conversation about things I like"

Sorry, I don't think I was there last night.

Sounds like comedy gold. Regular? Maybe I'll catch him next time I make it there.
-
• #18549
He's fucking brilliant to behold. He acts like he knows everybody, or he's overly friendly (read obnoxious and coked up). When I left he was boring a table of people who had come for a nice quiet spot of sea-bass.

There used to be another bunch who drank there, but their toiletry activities caused them to be permanently excluded from said pub.
They'd have cried if they'd met him.
He's like an extra from a Nick Love film.
wow totally missed that link. that looks a bit better.
I finish at 6pm so prob bit too late for you by the time I get to HPC (I wanna stop and buy some spare inners too as I'm riding around without any which is bit naughty). I should be fine though as there's not too many turns to worry about.
