it does if he was a scaffolder for 40 years, compared to a lawyer..
being outside wears your skin away, and most people don't protect themselves from the sun properly, especially back in the old days..
I don't think it matters much when you're 74 but this bloke is 59 or something and looks ten years older.I reckon he's done his fare share of hard graft.

yeah, i think his thousand yard stare in the photo means he has seen a few things. notwithstanding the shitty thing that happened, then good on him for wanting to see a few more.
i'm putting his age down as the sum of his sprockets. unfortunately, i look like the sum of mine, and i'm not riding 18x3

your esteemed advice please - i'm looking for a classic freewheel which I can convert to fixed in a couple of months time when santa has visited. I have small funds right now....is this worthy, in your opinions?

i think that's utter arse.
the fact is that being outside does weather the complexion, but if combined with a healthy lifestyle, (not smoking roll-ups and eating well), there's no reason why it should make you look 20 years older. You can look weather and look vital and healthy. The reason Lawyers etc don't look fucked is not because they don't work hard, because clearly they do ( evil though they may be), or because they work inside. It's because they don't smoke roll-ups, go down the pub most nights, drink cheap lager, come home to a big plate of chips and mini-kievs every. fucking. night.that's what etches itself on the faces of the working classes.

exactly. the bastards are everywhere. well, until about 2pm, anyway.
yes it does you spend all day out side every day for 30 year in rain wind snow sun vs being in an office and it makes a difference. Smoking makes a difference too but being out side alot makes a big difference.
