Nope, not when I've ordered stuff from them.

Nope, plus I'm pretty sure they send as recorded delivery (Free P&P BTW). I pretty much order all stuff from there now. Nearly always cheaper than CRC, Wiggle, etc...

Yep, I'm a fan of Parkers too, had good service from them several times.

parcelforce's online booking thingy only works with Internet explorer.
and nowhere on the site does it mention this until you've paid your money and clicked help.
USELESS fucking cunts.@ MA3K, they refused to take it trhough lack of documentation so it will be gone tomorrow.
When you download the packaging label thing you have to drag it to the printer to get it to print, it's a weird file format that only printers can recognise.

Got off the phone with J E James who politely told me that I am going to have to deal with Royal Fail who have lost my headset.
Apparently it is between me and Royal Mail, because I wasn't there at 10.30 on Tuesday to sign for the package. Yes. I was at work!
There was no telling them that their stupid policy of only delivering to the registered cardholder address resulted in Royal Mail having to do more than just getting it from a to b. They had to get it from b, back to a local depot and put it somewhere where it could be found again.
Oh well...

Thats not cool JG, I have been hassling Parkers and they are going to be resending the stuff Royal Mail lost.
Do J E James have proof of electronic signature? Are RM claiming they delivered to you?

I have had this a couple of times with bike parts. Basically the shop can't be arsed as they have your money already. Royal Mail couldn't give a shit cause they are staffed my bellends. You are left out of pocket and no parts. Posting about it on here is your redress, information is power. after hearing your story I wouldn't but from them.

we never send things out with royal mail because of this now,
it really annoys some people but the amount of things that never
turn up with royal mail is just ridiculous, their tracking system is essentially
useless as well. -

Theres a couple of well known bike shops that I have dealt with that flatly refuse to deliver anywhere other than the registered cardholders address, and this is the problems it can cause. I now only ever buy from shops that will deliver to my work address.

I caught Parcel force trying to leave my D2X on my doorstep, as i had left a note saying I had popped out, his excuse was "oh you said you had popped out so I thought it would be ok".

It is early days yet. The guy in the local depot couldn't find the parcel. I have the "Sorry, you were out." paper, and they have a copy and my phone number (hopefully not languishing in the waste basket). They guy said that a manger will need to deal with it on Monday...
I got an almost immediate reply from J E James, bleating that I had emailed them exactly what I said on the phone. Well duh! I want some kind of record. Anyway I shot one right back, saying...
Hi.
Thank you for the swift reply. I wanted to put down exactly what we discussed on the phone, and communicate exactly how I feel.
As I stated in the first sentence, I am going to contact Royal Mail on Monday. I would also like you to have a look at how you deal with these situations. I am sure that this is not the first time that something has gone missing in the mail.
I am not blaming you for the actions of Royal Mail. What I am stating is that I think that as a service provider, you should offer to contact Royal Mail yourselves. I would like to believe that as someone who uses their services, you are more likely to get a swift resolution.
Also, do you insure your packages or is insurance part of the contract you have with Royal Mail? Is it the poster or the addressee who claims when things go wrong. I have never actually received a full receipt from yourselves. I am sure a credit card slip was posted with the package. Besides printing out your email and a copy of my bank statement, there is no way I can prove the value of the package.
Strangely enough, visiting the Royal Mail tracking service gives me no information about the package at all, besides to tell me to come back later and Recorded Signed For items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.
But I am getting ahead of myself here. Hopefully the package will be found on Monday and this will be resolved. I do not want to tell you how to do your job, but perhaps less of a "shoulder shrugging" attitude and a clear description of how to deal with the situation would be more helpful. I am a customer and I would like to use your services again.

BUMP
Anyone had recent experience of delays in incoming overseas parcels clearing Customs if they require charges? I've had a saddle sitting @ the International hub at Coventry for a week now.
Email queries keep saying "they are very busy" and google searches indicate there is a massive weeks long backlog. Paying for express shipping was a bit of a fecking waste then :(

Recently had some glasses sitting at customs for 2 weeks - came from Italy. 2 days to cross Europe, 15 days to travel 50 odd miles in the uk. Twunts.

I once had a long drama with Parcelforce about a BMX that they repeatedly failed to deliver and eventually left with a "neighbour" (i.e. an unidentified local business some distance away).
Anyway. Made several trips to the local sorting office. On one of these expeditions the kindly old postie told me that they were "useless bastards", and that they had once delivered two small valves to that office but somehow "lost" the third item in the delivery - a full sized boiler.
Even the Royal Mail thinks Parcelforce is a joke.

I've sent something to Metriod, on this forum, a while ago. It seems to be somewhere, neither here, nor there.
Anyone have any experience with Royal Fail and what to do next? -

My boss has lost countless important documents in the mail. He only now sends unimportant stuff via Royal Mail. Anything else gets couriered as it always gets there.
I always get mail for a flat with the same number on a different road and vice versa. No wonder there are identity theives about with bank statements etc going to the wrong addresses all the time.
I don't want to drag out the old "it was better back home" thing but Australia Post was bloody good in my experience. I don't understand how Royal Mail can be so crap.

Unfortunately I can't blame my delay on Parcelforce as HMRC are to blame; they are the ones with the massive backlog and haven't even released it to PF for them to fuck up the actual delivery :(

I got a letter from Parcelforce this morning, informing me that they have a package for me that has a customs charge and they will deliver it once I've paid that. I go their website and enter my parcel reference number and get an error message saying it isn't recognised. I double check it and it looks okay, so enter again but again an error. I call the depot and try and pay via the automated service but, once again, the number isn't recognised.
I then get put through to someone in the Charlton depot and he can't find it but there's another number and that is recognised.
"That's good", say I, "can I pay it and arrange delivery?"
"Uhm, no. You'll have to come in to the depot in person and pay the charge and collect the package."Useless fuckers. Their error yet I've got to schlep out to Charlton, spreading swine flu as I go, to pick up my parcel. Fucking brilliant. They can whistle if they think they are getting their admin charge. I may use their sister organisation to deliver a freshly laid turd afterwards too.
