Evilmonkey A bit of a hijack (soz) has anyone tried (got) any of the endura Zyme shorts?
3/4 length come in camo (umm, too old for that) and grey?
All this and they fit the endura inners...
yes, I've got some zymes in grey.
they're ok, I think they fucked the sizing so you have to order a size down or something.
"too old" for camo?
how so? I get lots of army surplus (cut off combats I find v. comfy) and it's camo. and I'm old, I don't really care, my trousers cost £3.50.
thanks for listening.

ah, but you see you've got "the look" now, already owning some camo clothing (and having probably bought them off surplus stores for years before they got fashionable and everything). I own no camo, so buying a pair now would look like I'm buying them to be "cool" and possibly not even that.
Ok, maybe that only makes sense to me.
I'd heard about the sizing too, as I was looking at a small, there's not too much I can do, will just have to hope I'm not too rake-like...

camo hasn't been cool for like 5 yrs!!

well I got a medium and usually take large. (36 inch waist)
I'm never usually a medium in anything, so they are quite big. the side straps give you a little adjustment, but If you are planning on using them without the pop-in pants then I reckon a small will run at 30-32 inch waist

dogsballs camo hasn't been cool for like 5 yrs!!
good.
if I could have got plain coloured combats for the same price I would have, camo is good for work, doesn't show the grime.

you can find great things at army&navy stores, and it's normally really well priced.

Exactly (not that I knew, I just assumed it must be somewhere on the scale of fashionable vs me).
I'd look like I was jumping on to a band wagon that left town a fair while back...
Hence grey.

cool swrve have a pretty huge discount on their wool 3/4s due to a construction error, also their older model standard cotton 3/4s are half price.

stompy
Wore them to Brighton - good showerproof features and dried very quickly (except for the padded insert, but that's my fault for not having a mudguard)did you wet yourself? or was it just the beer you tipped down yourself on the train?? lucky that phone was in a plastic bag, eh.

You said we'd never speak of that again.
What's this all about? Now that I'm starting to ride up hill you've got to find some other way to ridicule me? The phone in a bag trick works, and I'm sticking with it.

No, once you can get up hills we'll start teasing you into trackstanding! : ) Then skids, then before you know it you'll be doing backwards circles at every set of traffic lights.

Stef my swerve fit properly, i wear 29 ordered 30 and still fit, my ass nevers hangs out.
it was interesting in that they say they are cut especially higher at the back, but are like normal. i have to wear a belt, which is weird as most trousers i don't. still like em though. cotton or wool? -

With wet weather coming in I need waterproof's but can't stand wearing full length tover-trousers. So I'm looking for a pair of waterproof shorts or 3/4's. These Endura look alright

but I can't find them anywhere. Anyone know where I can get a pair or have any other suggestions? -

Get some plus twos of pus fours for the gentleman cyclist look. Tweed or mole skin. I am looking out of some of these. I was talkin to wayne_f14 about this the other day and he talked about some where in Putney ths does them for a reasonable price. I want to get some but just finding the time to make it over to Putney just for one item is a bit difficult.

Cycling/under shorts and a nice pair of heavyweight woolen suit trouses work a treat. I just roll the legs up whilst cycling. T-shirt to cycle in and a shirt in my bag to change into - No toliet cubicle needed if you don't mind being topless in public (certainly not a concern I've ever pandered too)
Keeps my very corporate workplace nice and happy and minimises changing time.

@Object17 - Does that work for heavy (or at least persistant) rain? What about your shoes? I know that after 5 minutes in any reasonable shower, my jeans/army trousers/combats and trainers are soaked, making for pretty uncomfortable riding. And pretty uncomfortable after the ride too.
Hence the search for waterproof shorts. I guess I could get waterproof trousers and roll them up, but would prefer shorts or 3/4.

@andyf - In the depths of winter I do have to rely on a spare pair of smart trousers to change into but it worked this year even through the rainy summer.
I've been known to just don the lycra on particularly vile days (and put my trousers in my bag). Plus you get to feel like a roadie for the 20ish minutes that it takes to get most places in London (This may be a bad thing but amuses me greatly)Seconded on the wetwipes front.

yeah you can use my wet wipes after me if you want but I think it would be better if you got your own.

woolen trousers are ace!

Am I the only person who sweats buckets when riding? I've got a 3 mile ride to work and I am drenched by the time I get here.
Wet wipes and a change just wouldn't cut it.

I am still wearing shorts/tee with a merino baselayer, and still arrive sweating like a fat kid in a cake shop.Feet are starting to really freeze, though.
i've got a pair of these from freshtripe. waist is genorous ie 32cm is more like 34; and is still cut like normal trousers, so you arse hangs out. very comfy.
