• Killing in the name of!

• ya braindead ya got a fuckin' bullet in ya head

i don't bunnyhop. i avoid or i unweight the wheels going over the bump/hole..

• i dont like the idea of jumping on a track bike. Yang has fucked the bottom bracket on his pretty white bob jackson bunnyhopping.

• I reckon fixed would be faster in a velodrome.....

How? I thought it's brand new?

• photoben I reckon fixed would be faster in a velodrome.....

I reckon you'd be wrong. You are assuming it's track racing in the velodrome where gears are not allowed.
If gears were allowed you'd have a lower gear for getting the jump and a higher top gear for the sprint.

• Hippy is right, but if this were allowed it would lose the beauty and the difficulty. Perfection is imperfection ... oops sorry, becoming philosophical ...

Yeah, but he's been jumping up and down on it, innit? :) Well it's not fucked but it is pretty clicky and squeaky now. Yang's bike isnt light and yang isn;t exactly a race-weight waif either!

• It is possible to bunny hop your fixed. It is a completely different technique though, you have to do it the same way you would a BMX. It's all in the wrists. Lift the front wheel up then simultaneously lift the back end of your bike and lift your body out of the saddle at the same time. Without using your legs to hoist your frame up.

Obviously you can't get anywhere near the height of a just hoisting a SS by using your legs & cleats, but it is possible to get up and over holes, bags, cans and up pavements etc

?

How do you lift the rear end without using your legs to lift the frame ?

(I have no BMX experience so excuse my ignorance)

• Grab hold of the bars very tightly and roll your wrists forward, (I omitted that bit from my previous post.....oops) with all your weight off the frame & the front wheel in the air, the rear wheel will leave the ground too.

• It's a bit like that bit in E.T., just keep on practicing.

• Yeah, I think that what Caspar is describing is the 'proper' way of bunny hopping - a bit like olieing a skateboard but without the help of the tail bouncing off the floor.

I suppose that my old, geared technique of just jumping my legs up was a totally differen technique that is particualrly to cleats. Don't think you'd ever get cleats on a BMX!

• You would if you were a BMX racer - they were all the rage...

• yep, spds for racing.

frowned upon by many, Fox even had a "no fucking clips" series a few seasons back.

Cheers, got it now.

• fixed takes some getting used to, but worth it. Only problem I have is hitting the pavement when undertaking cars/buses

• Outstanding dredge.
