It's definitely an upgrade

BBB storage hooks £6 at wiggle right now, bargain imo. I think I originally saw them in this thread. I got 4 the other day, super simple, effective, easy solution. I got 4 bikes sorted in our garage in about an hour.

No, but you'll never get bikes that close together or easy to get out unless you have two rails at staggered heights.
-
• #1631
You can't pull bikes out - you have to work up from the bottom to get to the one you want.
Wheel/bar clash is the issue, which a bit more stagger would address if maintaining the vertical spacing, or a touch more vertical spacing to avoid horizontal sprawl.

It's for bikes I can't
bring myself tobe bothered to sell and will likely never ride, so lack of ease not an issue. I did solve my trailer woes mentioned previously with some big hooks, hurrah. Ran out of momentum before ordering the pedal hangers though, but tandem is tidy. I'll get there.

I'm beginning to think that the best option is for us to club together to open a cycling cafe, not to turn a profit but simply to have somewhere to put all the bikes that we can't bear to sell but will never ride.

Needs to be bigger than 65 sq ft

I thought I might be able to, all my handlebars are 40cm or less, top and tail the bikes and I might manage 5 on a rail.
Bit expensive though -

If they're all road bikes, then top and tailing is a good option.
What wall are you putting it into? With that rail, you're holding all the weight of the bikes just on a single line of screws. I wouldn't trust that unless it was in something really solid. If you have separate hangers, then each bike has at least 2-3 screws holding it so it'll still hold in hollow bricks etc. -

It'll be aerated concrete blocks. The wheels will probably be on the floor, so there shouldn't be that much stress on the fixings.
Fingers crossed anyway

I think I’m going to go with a simple line of front wheel hooks across the rear wall of my garage, with anchors in the wall for locks to go though every frame.
I’ve just got so many bikes to put somewhere that I admit I’m struggling a little.

Any suggestions for secure outdoor storage for 6 bikes between 3 households? Asgard look good, just wondering if there are any alternatives to consider.

What is the best wall mounted bike work stand - the Park Tool one, or something else?
-
• #1641
I bought two of these wheel hooks to commence hanging everything up in a nice row down the side of the garage. They're not bad for the price so I thought I'd buy the other 6 that I require only to find them now unavailable (and me really annoyed). Work stand, also curious. I've assumed it's park or nothing so have let that slide down the to-do list until it's a more pressing need.

I've got a Feedback Sports work stand which is excellent, but if I can get rid of the elements which I can trip over then that would be great.
Wiggle are out of stock for the Park PRS-4W, annoyingly.

Everyone I know with one of these, rates them very highly.

It certainly looks very well engineered, but on the expensive side I would say.

No legs to trip over on this one...

My LBS has these and they've been good for many years

Ditto. Having worked with Kestrel stands for a number of years, if you're looking for a hard-wearing, highly adjustable, pro-grade stand, and money isn't a concern, these are the way to go.

My brother-and-law and I took a punt on these to save a bit of space in our garage and we've been very happy with them so far. Top to tail you can really get them close together (we did a lot of measuring beforehand though).

@Dammit If you know someone handy with a welder you can just get the arm and then get the welder to grab some 1" box section and knock up something. My LBS has floor to ceiling poles the arms are on for infinite hight adjust

Don't all Asgards have OSB flooring? Maybe it was an option, I can't remember. You can fix to that, or with mine I cut out some rectangles and secured brackets with anchor bolts to the concrete below.
