• RPM
hippy Yeah.. but quittin' the drink? One thing at a time man.. one thing at a time.. ;)

I gave up completely for 7 months once

what a boring load of bollocks it was. but I proved to myself that I could live without alchohol

I think it's more important to learn to enjoy booze and not binge or be dependent on it, a couple of days a week teetotal doesn't hurt. but then 1-2 glasses of wine every night isn't bad for you.

I don't think it's the same as smoking, that's just pointless.
RPM its kind of test to my self to to see if i can do it, and agree with the enjoying booze instead of kicking the arse out of it.

  • @scott: really????

  • scott not scot i quit drinking alcohol when i was 19....haven't touched a drop since....13yrs dry....and never smoked or done drugs.....but i'm still ugly,so don't know what went wrong there?

Just make sure everyone around you keeps wearing their beer goggles - cheaper than cosmetic surgery.

  • this discussion is making me need a beer.......and a fag!

  • rg37 - good on you.
if you really love smoking, then i don't think you should quit. just smoke once or twice a week/special occasions, or whatever.

    everything in moderation!

  • lpg why, are you autistic?

    :)

On weekends my shift generally consists of avoiding drunks vomiting on me while I try to get them into the bus.

but those people tend to be inconsiderate tossers....

  • nice:)

  • I ended up in rehab

I won't make no bones about it

I used to love drinking and taking drugs and chasing women

I was a right proper boy about town

    but at some point

and I can't quite tell you exactly where or when

    I crossed a line

and the drink and the drugs started taking over

when that happens it ain't so much fun anymore

when I first walked into AA

I was yellow from jaundice and my nerves were so shot to hell

the man who got me sober

used to smile at me like the fucking 'buddha'

    at times I hated him

but that man saved my life

    rg37, addiction hurts doesn't it

people don't take nicotine addiction seriously

    they call it a 'habit'

when you feel like you want to crack try reading Joel

  • how comes you're in Paris now, then?

  • yeah they hate smoking in France don't they :P

imagine trying to enforce a non smoking rule in the local tabac

  • I was lucky lpg, I never lost very much, I mean I was sick as a dog and utterly utterly humiliated, but I never lost my family, home or job

Check this guy out, this is Craig Fergusan from the Late, Late Show in America, he tells it the way it is

  • Paris is virtually a non-smoking city now, they have banned it nearly everywhere

  • excellent video that, does sum it up well.

mr buddha, i'm sure you've told that story about your username before, still made me smile though (no pun intended).

scott, you remind me of a couple of my mates. you'd be surprised how much you can fuck yourself up by 18/19.

  • the audience in that video just dont get that he's not joking.

  • lightweights...

  • aidan the audience in that video just dont get that he's not joking.

Thats because most of the time he is rippin the piss out of just about everybody, he is having a bit 'real' moment when he is talking about Britney, but generally he is a bit 'no holds' barred - if you listen carefully - the audience sound nervous - like they are a bit uncomfortable with somebody being so honest
