  • of no booze no fags experiment ......nearly through my working day......no ciggies....yet......gritting teeth

  • nice one mate.....I've only had one today.keep it up

  • just think of how many pretty parts you can buy for the bikes now ;)

  • yep the money angle is a factor.. health rise but will my enjoyment factor start to dip????

  • good work mate. it was all about healthiness when i quit. you'll feel the difference on the bike after a while.

  • more money for better bike parts + more health and stamina to ride, you've never made a better decision mate.

  • 15 years of 20 marlb reds a day - what a f**in waste of time

you won't be sorry you stopped smoking geez - sometimes it's a struggle but thats what happens when your body fights the departure of poisons

if its any help i've stopped for 18 months and with the money saved i bought a custom made titanium road bike.

  • That's a pretty good incentive right there...

b4 he started smoking he was also a good lookin fella! ;)

    even more incentive :p

  • Yeah.. but quittin' the drink? One thing at a time man.. one thing at a time.. ;)

nah, the damage is done already you can't go back.

  • hippy Yeah.. but quittin' the drink? One thing at a time man.. one thing at a time.. ;)

I gave up completely for 7 months once

what a boring load of bollocks it was. but I proved to myself that I could live without alchohol

I think it's more important to learn to enjoy booze and not binge or be dependent on it, a couple of days a week teetotal doesn't hurt. but then 1-2 glasses of wine every night isn't bad for you.

I don't think it's the same as smoking, that's just pointless.

  • Everything in moderation.

I think moderation is the key to life, really.

  • suicide in moderation?

  • good point there flickwg

you have put a hole in my philosophy.

    :(

  • lpg Everything in moderation.

    including moderation.

  • ok.

instead of 'everything in moderation', how about 'nothing to excess'.

  • excess is good, just not excessively.

a good blow out once in while is a laugh, but not every weekend, it becomes too much like work

    crazy office parties?

  • I have never drunk or smoked. To be frank drunk people annoy me.

  • why, are you autistic?

    :)

  • I didn't touch a drop for 5 years but unfortunately that was from age 16-21 and not 30-35. Really wish I'd swapped.

  • i will not be quiting the booze forever...its just to help quit the tabs, as i do love pint and a ciggie to with it is very nice........so i figure stay away from them both to help aid the process.

  • lpg why, are you autistic?

I am, but only in moderation.

  • One thing DEFINITELY worth giving up is living in a constant state of giving up stuff. Fucking exhibitionistic martyrdom.
