any one know if the differece would be severe goin from 38mm rake to the 30 rake of the big city? would it completely trow off the geo and make it a shite ride?

As long as AC is the same, which looks to be about the same if you are referring to the Big Block fork made by All CIty rather than a Big CIty fork then it won't make much difference. 8 mm of extra toe overlap though if that is a concern.
Where are you buying it from as it looks like the sort of forks I may be after?

Someone had a steamroller with carbon forks on here, looked nice with flat bars.
-
• #168
Definitely do it, I enjoy mine muchly. (Yes, the frame is too small for me)
-

Because 'Rollers have a lot of clearance in the front fork, have you noticed that it's tipped the bike slightly forward? I can't imagine it makes a huge difference, just wondered.

Luckily I found forks with an equally huge clearance (I barely have to adjust my break pads), sorry.

Hello, I'm ordering materials for my first frame, pretty much copy pasted the measures for a surly steamroller 62cm. The supplier asked me to find out "the angles at the bb, eg seat tube to down tube and down tube to chain stays" thou.
Could anyone help me out on this one?
-
• #173
...did you even bother to read my post?
"pretty much copy pasted the measures for a surly steamroller 62cm" - that page*
"seat tube to down tube and down tube to chain stays"* - I don't find it anywhere on that page??
-

You can easily get those angles by using the measurements on that link.
Any framebuilder without those basic mathematical skills should probably not be trusted. -

I can't recommend this book enough: [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/145365058X/sr=8-2?tag=buro9-21/qid=1293389645/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1293389645&sr=8-2%3Ftag%3Dburo9-21&seller="]Lugged Bicycle Frame Construction, a Manual for the First Time Builder: Amazon.co.uk: Marc-Andre R. Chimonas, Raymond Wang: Books[/ame]
- I got a copy of it for a fiver a little while ago- unfortunately I had already built (and fucked up) a couple frames by then- when you consider it's around £100 for a cheap tubeset it's totally worth it... Also buy yourself an angle finder, (a digital one).
