  • I wouldn't say that, ed. Two different types of bikes, two types of material. That and I've never seen a Surly un-weld.

  • Condor Pista, definitely a better buy than a steamroller.

if you buy from Condor, they'll check your sizing before ordering the bike.

with respect ed, this is an idiotic thing to say. you have no idea what he/she wants, how it's gonna be ridden or anything.

  • the pista and the steamroller are about as far apart in terms of ride as it's possible to get. the latest pista is twitchy, quite harsh for steel but a quick bike if a little unpredictable. the steamroller is much more consistent in it's behaviour, strong but heavier.

One of the reasons is beause the steamroller has a low BB which gives a more stable ride (lower centre of gravity and a feelng of being sat in the bike rather than perched on it as with a track frame). The head angle and fork rake should make it handle quickly enough (whch is does on the road)

  • preferably north of the river.

    much appreciated.

    my frame has cracked.

    no i don't want a bob jackson.

  • i have a BJ

well i dont but i felt like annoying you :P

  • Everyone buy a Steamroller, I got one today and it's the best.

  • i do no condone the stealth editing of my title.

and do you really and can i ride it.

  • you want to test one out to see if you want to buy one?

my bike is a 56cm steamroller frame (but the forks and everything else are non-steamroller).

i'm in highbury, work in farringdon if you want to test ride it. i'm not selling it though.

    Mine's a 62cm (mansize).

Haven't put it together yet, and yeah same deal as badtmy the only thing Steamroller or Surly for that matter would be the frame!

  • have you tried a shop?

Is this to replace the slo-pro?

  • have you tried a shop?

    i only need frame.

  • go to Brixton Cycles and ask to try out 56.

  • Is this to replace the slo-pro?

    Say it isn't so!

  • Speaking of steamrollers - what size seat post clamp duzzit need? 30mm? (I bought mine off ebay and it duzn't av one)

  • 27.2mm.

  • 27.2mm.

That's the seatpost. The clamp is 30.0

  • That's the seatpost. The clamp is 30.0

    ta, luv!

    Yup :)

  • Hipsters and their lo-pros aye ;-)

  • Damn right.

  • On the upside you'll no longer look like a cheese eating surrender monkey ;)

  • I want to order my BB before the frame arrives so I can build in one go (hopeful).

The problem I have is that I've no idea what axle size to get that will work with the Goldtech hub/Miche Primato crankset. I can find all the other measurement, just not this one.

If you've got the same set up, or know the set up and which axle length I need I'd really appreciate the help.

    cheers

    BTW

  • i have steamroller with formula hub and primato cranks. use 107mm bb. remember its ISO and that goldtech hubs dont give a 42mm chainline.
