Condor Pista, definitely a better buy than a steamroller.
if you buy from Condor, they'll check your sizing before ordering the bike.
with respect ed, this is an idiotic thing to say. you have no idea what he/she wants, how it's gonna be ridden or anything.

the pista and the steamroller are about as far apart in terms of ride as it's possible to get. the latest pista is twitchy, quite harsh for steel but a quick bike if a little unpredictable. the steamroller is much more consistent in it's behaviour, strong but heavier.

One of the reasons is beause the steamroller has a low BB which gives a more stable ride (lower centre of gravity and a feelng of being sat in the bike rather than perched on it as with a track frame). The head angle and fork rake should make it handle quickly enough (whch is does on the road)

you want to test one out to see if you want to buy one?
my bike is a 56cm steamroller frame (but the forks and everything else are non-steamroller).
i'm in highbury, work in farringdon if you want to test ride it. i'm not selling it though.

Mine's a 62cm (mansize).
Haven't put it together yet, and yeah same deal as badtmy the only thing Steamroller or Surly for that matter would be the frame!

I want to order my BB before the frame arrives so I can build in one go (hopeful).
The problem I have is that I've no idea what axle size to get that will work with the Goldtech hub/Miche Primato crankset. I can find all the other measurement, just not this one.
If you've got the same set up, or know the set up and which axle length I need I'd really appreciate the help.
cheers

i have steamroller with formula hub and primato cranks. use 107mm bb. remember its ISO and that goldtech hubs dont give a 42mm chainline.
I wouldn't say that, ed. Two different types of bikes, two types of material. That and I've never seen a Surly un-weld.
