kings arms in Roupell street
This. Also White Hart around the corner.

The Hole in the Wall is probably the most traditional boozer round there.
I'd third the Kings Arms.
Anchor and Hope is a good pub even if you're not eating but could be busy.

Kings Arms, Roupell St
Edit, just saw all the suggestion for same.pub.
The Duke of Sussex had a facelift last year, not been in but smartish youngs pub.
Also the Horse and Stables looked like it was getting done up the Lambeth North end of Waterloo -

I'd plump for the King's Arms, too. It's consistently been the best pub in the area for more than twenty years (or that's about as long as I can remember).

Looking for somewhere to catch up with an old friend on Friday night - in the Angel/Farringdon/Old St area.
Basically somewhere that's got decent lager, serves food and isn't going to be insanely loud/rammed. Hopefully that's not unrealistic.

The Fountain?

I was just going to say 'The Old Fountain', but I imagine we mean the same place. :)

Closer to Angel, there's the Blacksmith & Toffeemaker (vegan pub) and the Island Queen. I haven't actually been to the former yet, but various people I know have (not all vegan) and they give it very good reviews. The Island Queen is long-established and a very good pub.

Cheers - those are good ones! Might start Old Fountain, then head to Island Queen and Earl of Essex and Plaquemine Lock, if we're up for a few places.

I miss proper pubs

Wenlock Arms at one end and the Alma at the other are also both decent.

The Charles Lamb should be quietish and near Angel. Lovely old backstreet pub.

Not long moved to Palmers Green N13 and have yet to find a real good local, any suggestions?
-
• #593
I like the Arnos Arms and Bohem Tap Room but both may be a bit distant depending where in Palmer's Green you are. The Prince and The Little Green Dragon Ale House are also good but might be a bit far.

Wenlock Arms
So good. Lucky to call it my local (to work). WIll have to sneak one in there whatever the weather.

Arnos Arms is a good pub, little far now though. Used to live up the road from it and was there on a weekly basis. The Little Green Dragon is only a mile away from my place so that definitely seems the most likely looks nice as well. Thank you!

I'm in wood green and second the Prince and the bohem tap room

Any suggestions for pubs with decent beer gardens that have TVs (in the beer garden) with Sky Sports? Centralish/North preferably

I am looking for somewhere round Old Street with good beer and a garden/tables outdoors. Any suggestions please?
Edit: I’ve just looked up the thread and The Fountain fits the bill thanks to its roof garden.

Yup, the Old Fountain is very good, esp if you’re a bit of an ale head.

Any recommendations SE London-ish pub that can take 15-17 people and a child? Need to book for a Sunday.
Windmill? Down the Cut.
Further away from station so less crowded. I'd say fewer dickheads but we used to go there a bit so that clearly isn't accurate.
