^^ I've long since stopped riding fast on my commute. What's the point. The overall difference between nailing myself and pootling changes my journey time from about 42 mins to 48. Pointless basically. Also, if I nail my commute, the last thing I want to do is train properly when I get home / the next day.
I've already said all this to you anyway. Blah blah.

Painted a rather colourful picture in my head.
ha :)
I don't normally say anything when drivers or riders do stupid stuff, but that really pissed me off. If I wasn't used to people doing that in races then I could quite easily have toppled off or been pushed into something.

I've taken to riding on 39 x 18, sprinting from the lights like mental and then not caring when they all fly past me.
This is my polo-bike technique...

Out on a cafe ride with an old school friend today, on our way back from chertsey we were briefly joined by and then dropped by someone on a Pearson fixed wheel bike, full mudguards and a big saddle bag. I was on 48/19, he was clearly on an even lower ratio from his cadence and he sped away from comfortably at about 25mph. Good work!

I find that there's barely a couple of minutes between a chilled commute and a running late and/or just feel like going really fast one for me, seems to be 25 mins give or take either way.

I was there, but was pedestrianing it, so not particularly spottable!

I got a hearty DAS as I prepared to run an amber to red light heading down the Walworth Road tonight. Didn't see who it was.
I was on the pompino so couldn't have obliged anyway.

Pair of chaps on black fixies heading down the side of Figges Marsh in Mitcham, I DASd you as I sprinted past, but didn't wait to see if you obliged or not, as I wanted to get home...
The one of you with no lights - you were really tricky to spot in the dark...
