morning.
followed a bloke with long hair wearing oakley-ish shades on a black frame with flat bars and gold rims all the way from kilburn to just before marble arch this morning. it was a nice smooth, non-stop run thu the traffic too. well it was till i got boxed in by some gap-blocking nobber on a huge mo-mo bike with his girlfriend perched on the back (with her inside-out knickers sticking out the back of her acid-wash jeans). mighty annoying. if you can't fit thru the gap why don't you just stay out of the way instead of ruining it for all the cyclists by weaving about revving your engine and shoving your girlfriend's whites in my face? hmm? hmm?
then i almost managed to say hello to a nice looking girl ina long skirt locking up her s/s iro in the basement of sea container's house. managed a nod and half-smile. whicj wasn't bad for me before 9am.
AUTISM ALERT - last week when walking from upper ground to southwark bridge and back i decided to keep track of fixed vs geared bikes on stamford street. it was 5-4 to the gears on the way there and 5-5 on the way back (fixeds were winning 5-3 till the last couple of seconds). is that right? are nearly 50% of bikes on the southback fixed or s/s now?
to be fair stamford street is bit of a main-drag for curryers it seems. I put this down to the proliferation of offices in the area and the fact that it was outside of main commuting hours (hence the relative lack of of bromptons). still, i found my little survey quite interesting. i tried the same thing on brick lane the other day but got distracted after a while. the score was pretty close to 50/50 there too tho.

For googling. I couldn't remember what those things are called. The only ones I ever read were in Private Eye... Eye Spy. They were fucking funny sometimes.

The London Fields gang cycling down Mare Street on Saturday night, off to kill the 14 year-old.
Also, the woman on a penny-farthing in Broadway Market and London Fields over the weekend.
Don't you just love the dichotomies of Hackney.

Some girl just cycled up Lewisham Way (right opposite the goldsmiths library) on the path on a very nice white frame with black risers, a couple of cards in the spokes, etc. I tried to get my chinese down my gullet so I could stick my head out the door to shout/spit food "fixed!" but alas I was too slow.
Lonely Hearts club comment: We're you that mystery woman?
Peace

We are you that mystery woman? That Chinese food appears to have made you post in Engrish...
Spotted: Matt Bad Designer going along Stoke Newington High Street just before six. I would have shouted "do a skid" but the flash of orange, pink and two shades of purple that is Matt's bike/bag caused me to have a small epileptic fit.
Also spotted: a few fixed bikes with riders I didn't recognise.

lock fail^
pretty much, as this is the railing where you can easily break off with a few swift kick.

i think its a fail as in, undo the front wheel, pass the bars through the lock and presto, free bike.
are you impersonating a snobby deskperson in one of the galleries down there?
