Cheery DAS from OLC at Trafalgar Square this morning
ohai
i wasn't looking back but i could hear that you obliged :)good to talk at the lights. i didn't say good bye because i had to concentrate on one of those ninnies who approaches a roundabout (traf square) at the very lefthand side of the left hand lane and then proceeds to go right around the roundabout without signalling or looking behind them.

You're embarrassed by what others do? Why?
-
• #59859

No, I'm intrigued.
You're worried because others who visit the forum, but are not members, might think you're not a nice person because other forum users often use the word cunt?
Not sure I'd be too worried about what those people think of you.

I agree, we should reduce the frequency that we say cunt in posts. Over use of swearing often makes the user sound like a child revelling in the use of a new naughty word, it just waters down the effect such words can convey, but used judiciously they can be wonderfully expressive.
But why do you bring that up now? You seem to be the first person on this page to say cunt. And why spotted thread? Or are you complaining that too many people are shouting it at you in the street?
-
• #59866
I suppose you could say I have 'spotted' the excessive use of this word.
Rarely, but perhaps correctly, this word has of course been aimed at me personally.I don't have a problem with profanities at all, if anything I use variants of the F word too often. It's just the C-word and it's overuse. As you say, it sounds like it's being used by children.
I really wish I hadn't brought this up. Every one just shut the fuck up anyway, you know I'm right.
