I did spot a chap on a tall black fixed, pedal straps and those vibram toe shoe things...... very relaxed style sir...... Torrington Place area....

I have a pair of those that I love running in, but I can't even begin to imagine how awful cycling in them must be...

Is it really quieter on the roads today? I thought London Bridge was just as fucked as normal, as was Walworth Rd and E&C. And all the other places I ride through.
Bah humbug.
-
• #49131
Well, LB may have been normal, but it was calm before hand and I didnt have ranty cabbies tutting me along the way.
Maybe all the nodders are going your route to avoid the olympics ;-)
-
• #49132
I should really take down those "nodders, this way" signs...

• #49133
repped +1 hahaha

Wasn't exactly empty but definitely quieter than usual. And got to play silly sprinting games with a guy from Holborn to Hyde Park Corner. You need to work on your track standing dude but those wheelies were awesome.

Could you give us a bit more of a clue, I can't really go 10 minutes without blinking.
-
• #49137
I saw it!!
-
• #49138
You only need to manage about ninety seconds. Does that help?

I had a fairly pleasant ride in to but I have started my Olympic Hours (TM Work) of 8am to 4pm and you've got to bear in mind traffic is always lighter during school hols, eh?

i reckon i spotted branwen on chiswick bridge yesterday around 5? i only realised it was you once i'd passed.
Fuck he must have been going slowly! I saw him on Kew Rd at 4 pm.
Most likely. In between the bridges I went to Halfords to buy a not nice and not pricey seatpost, and to Chiswick house to do some photography work.
Hi Joe :)

Tiny skid, but I did a bigger one for you on the other side of the wharf ;)

about 50 roadies in a huge peloton in some matching kit headed up OKR to town by Tesco at 5:45 or so
I saw that lot as well on Tower Bridge Rd riding 2/3 up well out in the oncoming lane past 2 lanes of stopped traffic and bus stopped in inside oncoming lane.
Not much room for anyone else on the road. Lucky for them the bridge had just opened and it was only other bikes coming towards them.

Thomas Voeckler riding with the Italian team at the top of Box Hill this morning.
The Canadian women's team on Coombe Hill.
Cadel Evans riding on his own on Coombe Hill. He blanked my cheery "good morning".
The police closing off the zig-zags at Box Hill (boo....)
A good day of spotting.
