Spotted Jah Tim on coldharbour lane early yesterday eve.
You probably saw me nearly get taken out by overtake/left turn driver (i anticipated and stopped. then when she realised i existed stopped her car in the middle of the mouth of the side road and insisted I rode past her rather than finish her maneuvre now it was clear to do so. argh!) and then 50yds further up the road I pulled off up onto pavement to answer my phone which is when you rode past me heading into brixton.
I tried to catch up to say hi but you'd disappeared leaving me to question if i really did see you or if it was just a mirage. Also managed a short roll through tooting with jaygee and veevee this morning nice seeing the both of you, catch you at souths soon hopefully!

Fixedcheese (i think) heading North past waterloo station last night, we both did a double take. If it wasn't you i'm being groomed and you have a twin.
Hola! Tried to wave once you had passed, nearly stacked it.

Nice Jewish Racing Gold KHE going over Mile End Road from Grove Road this morning.
Also a courier on CS2 that I thought was Stringerman, pointed at him in a knowing way, then realised it wasn't him. Sorry.

Morning! I was suffering from a brutal hangover/hayfever combination and had the sun in my eyes, hence looking a bit out of it.
Spotted: a sign for the Roebuck in Stevenage. This pleased me. No other cyclists on the a10 though :(

No, but perhaps a bit of tact.
your stuff has been nicked. the police don't give a shit. deal with it.
If the theives are the Romanian/Albanian kids then there is zero the police can do- so the CCTV is of no use to them.

I'm reading this in the context of them being vampires and thus not showing up on the CCTV.
Something else to add to the "what are you afraid of whilst cycling" thread

Why's that?
Genuine question -
• #48063
Yep, although before the police arrived, the LMNH staffers were saying to the victims things like: "They (the police) don't care about it, we've offered in the past but they never take it." Not an ideal response for someone who's just had their things stolen.
The police actually told the people not to watch the CCTV. We have given the cops a copy of it and we can send it to the people by email if they want.
what was the distraction
Was it those 3 kids who are always getting kicked out?
nah, they're just locals. They're only annoying in the school holidays.

Not kids, but definitely Romanian or from around there. There's been a group of them that comes to the cafe once every couple of weeks, I usually spot them and kick them out before they're even through the door. This time it was a different group. Same trick though, they have a half folded newspaper, put it over your table and wave it around a little as if trying to sell it to you, but they've actually just pocketed your phone. Londoners are wise to it, it's always tourists or people that have just moved that are the victims. The whole thing sucks, but this is where we live, don't leave your valuables where someone can grab it.
As for yesterday, I was at the till, went in the kitchen for just over a minute judging by the CCTV, and in that time they came in, nicked a few phones and left. -

This is London, my friend.

it puckers my arsehole when I'm in LMNH and I see people wander about leaving their macbooks and phones on the counter by the window.
how can I be so concernced about them being nicked when it's not even mine and the owner is just blase/oblivious to the whole thing.

Exactly.
Don't buy expensive bollocks = Don't get expensive bollocks stolen.
-

you're welcome to buy expensive bollocks, just keep them in your trousers.

Its a well known fact that like vampires romanian/albanian kids dont show up on camera or in mirrors. just one of those things really

It was an open sorry. It will reach him eventually. I also said sorry when he caught up a few red lights down. I just felt like saying sorry again.

Then they started using the tube map, now it's the free newspaper.
If you look outside generally you've got one or two older ones that they offload the phones to.
We used to get three visits a day, minimum, from groups of between 2-5/6.
The larger groups were a nightmare as they'd split up the second they came into the bar, and you could guarantee they'd have at least a phone before you got them all out.
We spoke to the coppers about it and the response was always "we can nick them, but they are too young, the uncles outside never steal the stuff they just hold it", they focussed on deporting whole families as it was more productive.

Likely to be overpriced "homebaked organic" flapjacks and other vegan hipster associated foodstuffs.
True thing, the flapjacks (and other cakes, presumably) are absolutely extortionately priced at LMNH. £2.50 for a flapjack? Get to fuck.
The Albion does excellent flapjacks for 55p each.

Middle aged bloke on a road bike, bit chubby, no helmet with hair loss? If so, he is a red light warrior. I see him on a near daily basis smashing through red lights without a care in the world. Been seeing him for over a year now doing it. I'm amazing he hasnt been nicked by the po po yet.
