a guy on a mint green sorta bianchi celeste coloured condor pista running SS who literally had the loosest chain i've ever seen in my entire life - the thing was BARELY on, honestly i don't know how it was even running... we met at the lights by e&c roundabout.
i'm always tempted to say something friendly in those situations, but worried i'll make someone feel stupid and look like a pompous bike snob.
i certainly would have said something if he were running fixed... -

+1. if you're lucky they'll take action. it's happened before.

will give them a call.
i just get the feeling they'll not do much.. should have taken the other cyclists details. -

To the girl who won't be on here but deserves sympathy; please don't listen to pricks like the one who shouted "use your fucking arms and eyes" right in your face at Waterloo. He was riding about 20mph right behind you with earphones in. The fact that he thinks you 'cut him up' was entirely his fault and probably the least he deserved. I hate shit like that when I think it might put people off cycling.

Mrs Brave, wearing forum jersey, was spotted this morning by someone...
She's actually not on the forum due to viscous firewalls and a responsible job but was well happy at being spotted.

ah eargoggle riding. many's the time i've been tempted to just yank the things out of peoples ears and yell 'you're a fucking liability, sunshine!' in their stupid fucking faces.
-
• #37086
Well, I only ever wear earphones when I'm doing some boring 2 hour plus ride on my own, and they're the crappy non-isolating type, at low 'background' volume, so I can hear absolutely everything going on around me, but with the addition of something like a transistor radio playing in the next room.
If anyone tried to yank them out of my ears, I'd fucking slap them. [/tedious old forum debate]

I always ride with music. But only ever with volume control on the cables. And always have it low enough to hear the traffic.
The few times I've forgotten my ipod I've realised that I'm more apprehensive as I for some reason I'm more jumpy, whereas with music I just flow along with the traffic.
That is all.

Good to see you, was quite surprised but it was quite the encouragement I needed as I was beginning to slack.

Fox on Holborn this morning on that lovely Neil Orell.

Yeah I don't necessarily have a problem with people riding with music at a level where they can still hear stuff, especially on long rides but when you've got them both in and it effects your own judgement/awareness you are officially not allowed to shout at anyone haha.
Particularly if they actually did no wrong and perhaps aren't as "hardcore" a cyclist as yourself.
In fact, you're just not even allowed to shout at anyone else on a bike unless they've nearly made you die.
To summarise, the rules are basically 'don't be an obnoxious twat on a bike'.
Seeya later, yeah. -

This morning around 8.45 some guy using me as a wheelman along Brixton Road before taking me at the lights (gold fuji track, fixed with gold hubs). Thanks for returning the favour up Brixton Hill, although I had to go all the way up the hill while you stopped halfway.
