Spotted no-one as, like chain breaker, I too flip the peak down and shut my eyes in this weather.
Annoyingly, I remembered to bring dry socks to change into but not spare kecks. Despite spending some time in the changing room with a hairdryer blowing on my crotch I am still decidedly damp about the top of the thighs. *squelch

As you well know, stb, commuting is strictly recovery, and I have no desire to arrive at work all flustered and shit. How you mock the zen art of the purist recovery ride, as demonstrated by the likes of claus and myself. How you regret that mockery as we dance away from the furthest reaches of your Exposure Joystick every other Tuesday night.
The words of the great Von Claus continually reverberate through my vertebrate during the majority of my weekly outings to and from work. Really they do. Oh, and I mostly cycle on Wednesdays now ; p
Ouchy, poor ol' stb... ;]
S'ok. They talking loud, but sayin' nuttin'.
Oh, and this morning spotted a whole EU carpark load of motorists going precisely nowhere on the whole run into work. Water evaporates, Suckers!

Does anybody look where they're going when it's raining?
Never trust your vision when riding in London whatever the weather, far too much going on, you just get sensory overload. Stay safe, keep eyes firmly shut, ride by sense of smell.

naturally a lot of people in cars driving like twats because it's raining.
no idea how it really affects them considering roof/wipers.
also saw josh le libre again but didn't dare shout as he was in front of me in a peleton most of the way and the rest of the cyclists didn't look like they were enjoying the ride enough to put up with some gobshite shouting 'josh! josh!' -

People driving fast because the car is the extension of them and they don't want to get it wet. -

I think what actually happens is that the wet weather slows general traffic progress, so it creates more congestion which causes people to drive faster on the bits they can drive fast on out of frustration.
Notice also pedestrians becoming even more reckless in their road crossing attempts, which contributes to the general hampering of vehicular progress.
