JAMIE always, always whistles.. In the years I've known him and the thousands of miles I've trained with him he has never shut up.. Well, maybe once or twice going up an odd hill.. It's infuriating when I coughing up a lung in HR max and he's whistling "No. No. No, no, no, no. There's no limitsĀ±!" over and over and over..

Jamie, thats it - he must be the only forumenger i've met whos real name i remember over his forum name.
For those who havnt met him think of a retarded R2D2 on a fixed gear...

^that would surely be the one and only JAMIE. I'm yet to make him work hard enough on the bike that he doesn't have enough spare breath to whistle. Don't think there's anyway to shut him up.
Jamie = JAMIE on the forum.
I reckon he whistles just to show off that his lungs aren't collapsing like the rest of ours are.

Hmmm, maybe its time for Forum name change...

I like to think I have a pretty good imagination but this 'R2D2 on a bike' is beating me.

Jamie is only 3 ft tall, made of white and blue metal, and looks like a dustbin.
And he whistles. . .
I also have a posh mate who dresses in Gold.

I also have a
posh matecamp training partner who dresses in Gold and is useless when there's a trash compactor that needs sorting out.

I saw a guy being told off by a (plastic) Police man this morning walking his bike on the pavement outside the Scala this morning to avoid waiting behind the buses at the junction.
I also saw this - one guy on a mountain bike, one on an alu Colnago, both getting ticketed by some jobsworth CSO. I assumed they must have been riding their bikes but I must admit I thought they had dismounted and were just walking them along doing no harm to anyone. There was a fat lady pedestrian who was watching on looking smug. Maybe she caused a fuss, I dunno.
It is irritating, that little bit where the buses turn, because they've specifically narrowed and barriered it so you can't get past, and it takes an age for the buses to clear through there. Fortunately I was feeling patient this morning.

Hmmm, maybe its time for Forum name change...

I like to think Han but fear I may well be Leia.. We do genuinely have a mate we call Wookie on account of being him incredibly hairy.

Seems a bit much if they were genuinely walking their bikes. I'd like to think I'd tell the PCSO where to stick it in that situation, but I'm not sure that would be entirely productive.

That guy is there alot dishing out tickets like sweets and that junction is utter shite. I usually avoid it by turning left before the road becomes a bus lane further up the hill but then you enter the white van race circuit.

It would prove 100% productive in the continuation of your journey.
I used to pass that every day around the same time and i found out that a nice sharp "fuck off" does the job well. -

Sometimes I think riding a bike (slowly) on the pavement is less annoying than pushing it. For both the rider and the pedestrians.
But I still find myself tutting at people who do it. -
• #32322
Certainly takes up less room if one needs to ride on the pavement. (I only do this if roadworks suddenly pop up on my route and need to hop up for a few metres. Plus I always make a point of apologising and saying thank you to peds)
