  • The Hipster Spice Route is as old as the dawn of Tim (founding hipster Tim Adamski-Marthwaiteles). Much of the spice route has been lost now to development and the decline of a rich oral history. The clearest remaining segment now travels from Holborn along Theobalds Road, through Clerkenwell, up Old Street and peters out as it crosses Kingsland Road.
Obtuse archeaologists have surmised, on available evidence, that originally it would have extended West as far as Imperial Wharf in West Brompton where ill fitting Carharrts would have been unloaded from the Thames. Bound eastwards it is likely to have had it's further reaches in Stratford where ineloquent traders would have sought to tempt the curious from the badlands of Ilford. There is also a suggestion of spurs headed towards both Stoke Newington and Greenwich by way of Rotherhithe, although the latter seems unlikely.

    Much obliged.

  • I had two spots on Bellenden road this morn about 9am.
Blue Dolan track and a white Condor classico.... a'right lads!

  • dude wearing a lfgss cap going towards elephant and castle on a globe roll

    It's me Shabba!

  • The West Norwood Fixieskidder who isn't one of my housemates was spotted again last night. Is it you hellomiles? Outside Barclays and then locked up outside Tesco. Blue nameless steel thang with seriously tight geometry.. nice! You sir, have a messenger-bag.

  • hellomiles has a blue Dave Marsh which certainly isn't nameless and a rolltop backpack, not a messenger bag.

  • BlueQuinn at the normal spot around Bishopsgate. I shouted and you looked around rather stunned... Love the tash thingy you got going on;-)
Oh, btw - you didnt spot me cause i was in my incognito kit including my unstealable geared bike ;-)

  • Oh, and a fucking balaclava for me tomorrow if i can find one!!!!

  • HTFU! It's not going to drop below zero so why do you need a balaclava?

    Grow a pair.

    :P

  • I tried a balaclava on a bike once.

When breathing out the material covering my mouth deflected upward the exhaled air, which caused my glasses to steam.

One minute out of the house and I couldn't see a bloody thing.

    :P

Im not from here.... this is fucking cold for me!!!

    So blow my pair!

  • I take it you weren't here last winter ChainBraker? If you think now is cold you ain't seen nothing yet!

    Here you go Iain:

  • I take it you weren't here last winter ChainBraker? If you think now is cold you ain't seen nothing yet!

I was, and thats what scares me. I was ill equipt last winter and i want to make sure riding this one is warm.

  • Spotted:

wmialil and I sheltering from the rain as we await work, lets hope for a busier day today.

  • Last winter I wore nothing but jeans, a t-shirt, and a flannel shirt over the top. Oh and some gloves when it was snowing. I don't know how anyone can cycle in a winter coat, I'd die of dehydration within a mile.

  • BlueQuinn at the normal spot around Bishopsgate. I shouted and you looked around rather stunned... Love the tash thingy you got going on;-)

Ahh, heard the shout, didn't spot the source of it :-)

  • Screw that, I'm on the ls base layer and softshell already (softshell comes off after a few miles during the day time).

  • I just want to be snug because im now riding out at 6am which is damn near coldest it would get every morning.

  • rather than a balaclava, how about one of those facemask things?

  • or a pair of balls?

  • swrve jeans, mission bag, and mallet spinning away on the OKR this morning, backstop to a mini fixie convoy. good morning to you.

  • myself in the reflection of the back of a bus. I thought i was about to ride headlong into another cyclist... thankfully only cats heard my scream.

  • Possibly spotted Multi Grooves in Isle of Dogs this morning.

  • Danny Dyer by Seven Dials. He even walks like a wanker

  • ^He even walks like a wanker - nice line. I saw Gary Lineker and Ross Kemp in Soho, but not together. Not on bikes either. And both walked like wankers.
