Rob will tell you there is a £10 fee for doing so
ok. do you get your tenner back when you hand over said tool once yer done with it? -
• #30628
No I think it's a fee. As they are (I understand) a two man operation, which is very busy, I think the fee is priced to disincentivise tool hire in the first place.

They both sound as bad as each other tbh.
O RLY Now?!?! You have USS Enterprise handlebars and a trispoke;-)
Your pot is the colour of your 3 spoke -

Fuck sake.
Neighbour downstair talking about how to break into flat by changing the lock so it won't be 'breaking in', and the best way to do that is to use flats whose neighbour they know.
subject of bicycle came up, 'police won't do anything, door was left 'open'" so they tick us off the list' (somehting along those line).

Heck, I work at lmnh and they don't let me make my own coffee.
Lies!!! You never asked!! Nik and Sam do their own coffees if they want to. So can you.

@Catfood -
There are quite a few cu*ts at Brixton Halfords. I bought a roof box from them, but of course no one was 'qualified' to fit it.... nor was i of course. But i had no choice! it really wasn't too difficult of course. Interestingly, whilst i was fitting the box there were plenty of 'qualified' technicians there to help a 'pretty lady' fit her car stereo. Yup, truth is i never really expected anything less from them...... :( -

sinffikins: i think a lot of it has to do with 'working at halfords'. its got be about as soul suckingly depressing as being a jizz-mopper in a bangkok ladyboy brothel, just with less attractive customers.

I cycled to work at 4:30, expecting the traffic to be ridiculous, instead there was hardly a car on the roads.

heading east down bayswater road (near kensington gardens) at around half 5, bloke on a bike whizzed past - didn't get a look at the rest of the bike because my eyes were drawn to the insane fluorescent pink aerospoke on the front.
absolutely nuts.

Purple biked poloenger west on clerkenwell rd with some bizarre cardboard t shaped thing poking out of his bag, and then a dude on a ss steel langster absolutely flying down the OKR. Actually had to make an effort to stay in front. But then I saw he was doing it in trainers on flat pedals with no retention and I just gave up. Bested by a dude in black white and neon pink boardshorts :(

I saw dogsballs riding West along Whitechapel Rd today on the old man bike, about 5pm rush hour.
I was on foot. Hi Dale.

You'll not earn much by walking packages around, Max.

First spot! And a lovely one too. I always thought it would be more like "who was that bellend in the pink and black cap cycling like a dick"
Just saw a beautiful light metallic blue track bike by the crossroads in Camden Town. Drops, brown leather bar tape, Shamals(?), Brooks. etc. Very nice. Chap had a Knog cap.
Nice bike, sir.

Can I make myself really unpopular for a moment?
I work in two shops that have lending tools. This is a nice thing to do and I'm glad we do it.
However, I know of no other industry in which it's ok to borrow the things that they have that make them money, ie tools.
Go into starbucks often and ask if you can make your own coffee in their machine?
What about going to the chippy with a bag of frozen chips and using there fryer?
Take your car to the garage and ask if you cam borrow a spark plug remover (note: I don't know anything about cars, this is made up tool name, but you get the idea)? All of you, stop feeling so entitled, you are essentially asking fir a favor because you are either too cheap or two lazy to carry your own.
Amen, worse are those that ask if the mechanic can come out and explain how they can do it themselves at home. Uhm, sorry, he spent a lot of his own money and time training, for what?
In the area I work in this really frustrates me. I want to say "Oh okay, you work upstairs, yeah? Well I'm in a costly legal battle at the moment, but you wouldn't mind just telling me how I can defend myself in court, yeah? I don't need you to be there, i just need you to tell me everything to say and write."....

the old man bike
Best bike in London, that is... Yesterday: A mashed-up Rascale on Atlantic Road, heal up soon, bruv... Half the south polo massive in the Effra watching Chelsea kick the arse off the Gooner scum... This morning: Lucky on Kennington Road... This evening: some ne'er-do-wells drinking tramp beers, eyeing up the on-foot-cuz-of-tube-strike damsels in distress, handing out VIP passes outside LMNH... Hello...
@Nhatt, I have read on here if you wander into Sargent and Co and ask to borrow a tool Rob will tell you there is a £10 fee for doing so. I like that approach.
