Those bars are designed to gore inattentive peds. Or scoop them up and place them gently back on the pavement. Kind of like cowcatchers on the front of old cowboy trains.

hello to the guy called Tom that i raced up through highbury fields about an hour ago, headed towards the barn... we met at the top when we obstructed some traffic and had a little chat and i asked if you knew lfgss and you said yeah, you'd been following along a bit but hadn't posted. i gave you an lfgss card i picked up earlier in a bike shop but forgot to invite you to come on some of the rides. anyway, hope you'll join in and post, come on a ride (better) etc... you were much stronger than i and i'm sure you'd enjoy it!

spoted Yang and Alex(ASM)...tried to steal Yangs bike but he'd sold it for a score to some bloke...pfffft...and saw alex for like 10 mins efore he decided he couldn't be bothered and went home to play XboX....'GAYYYYYYYYYYYYY' quote from shaun of the dead, not homofobia!

nah he hasn't as i left college yesterday his mate was holding it for him and tried to steal it, but yang told me 'as a joke' it wasn't his bike to have stollen he'd sold it to the other guy for 20 squid./..i then went on to try to buy it of the guy but he looked confussed and laughed so i gave up went and got some lunch and lived happily ever after.

one thing i've noticed about this thread, is that it isn't really a 'spotted' thread, as in - "hey turd, i saw you, you need brakes, nice bike", more of a sort of fixed gear missed connections.

"me, geeky guy on the NYC langster, riding along... you: cute chick on the london langster, showing some leg, our eyes met, then you met that truck, i helped you put your face back on, looked for your index finger in the gutter and waited for the ambulance, call me...please?" etc...

on turds behalf (and my own), I sincereley apologise for trivialising this thread by informing everyone that we saw one another at university every single day. :)

Oh, and i saw someone looking rather angry on a blue + red fixed wheel bike riding in leicester square 15 mins ago. Can't really blame him for being angry, considering the vast number of lary and drunk people trying to find somewhere to watch the rugby. I was also in fact angry :). Uh hi if it was someone on here.

candide passed a chap at Old St roundabout at 8:30 on a very new-looking purple T J Quick frame, white deep-v's - nice colour scheme, also riding with a girl on a fixie too. Said "nice bike" as i passed but would anybody know who he is?

hello. yeps. that'd be me, though the bull-horns might be on the way out since i grabbed a pair or them white risers at the polo this sunday. might have to put a flashin light on my lid to make up for the lack of punch the new bars will have. ha! and the little lady with me is my girl vic on the pastel raleigh fixie, the mini everyone wants to ride on sundays... the bike, not the lady.
