Pretty sure I saw Crispin Glover last night going down Old St into Kingsland Road. I was in 'panicking that I had a gig to play in thirty minutes and no batteries for my pickups'-enger mode, or I'd have yelled a friendly "herrow".

Herro!
Spotted a wax-jacket and skinnys clad boy on a Bianchi with black mudguards, heading West along Clerkenwell Road, then around Westminster, some older dude on a lovely red track bike, can't remember the maker, but he had them orange Tron glasses on.

How does a tire bell actually work?
-
• #21585
Pull brake lever, flywheel contacts tyre, bell starts a-ringing until lever released.

God I only check this thread about once a fortnight. How is it everyone seems to keeo up with all the threads all the time? I just can;t do it. I think I need to flounce sometime soon.
So here's my roundup.
Skully in front of me waiting to cross onto Waterloo Bridge tonight, looked busy giving directions to a ped so didn't say hi...
I was faintly aware of someone nearly saying hi! I was being my usual helpful self to some delightful tourists. I fucking love being helpful, it makes my day better. Look out old ladies trying to cross the road, I think I'm going to start actiually stopping on my bike when i see old ladies trying to cross and then walking them across.
Chris FUCKING Morris in Brixton Cycles this morning... FUCK OFF!?! Amazing spot!?!
He was probably location spotting for the new series of Nathan Barley....
Naaah. His sleekly understated tourer (Chas Roberts, no decals, headbadge painted over) is parked on the street where I work without fail.
I love a tourer.
Peds need to be woken up on the Strand in the mornings!
I'm going to put my tyre bell back on my bike.
Ohmy I fucking love this Hops. I can remember chatting to you AGES ago about it somewhere or other, maybe on a night ride or something. I've been thinking about this bell ever since. I really really want one on my tourer. I think I might turn it into the gadget bike, I want those lights that have indicators on them and proper dorky stufff like that.

Very nice bicycle.
Galvanised?
There's a certain Vello who rides a delightful (geared) gold one with shiny polished muguards around South London. Coulda been him.Today: somewhere near Borough high street, I said 'Do a skid' to a gent on an understated white fixiebike(tm). 'A gent' becuase you stopped for peds, waited for me to catch up, and said 'I can't do them!'.
I love a good random friendly moment.

I couldn't have waved back as my hands were frozen to the bars. Morning aways.

Jayjeebus walking down Charlotte Street as I walked up. Get a scarf young man!

Today on the Ball's Pond Road, a convoy of no fewer than seven unmarked police vehicles plus one unmarked van, travelling extremely fast. They caused enough of a ruckus that they could have had Gordon Brown on board, but on the Ball's Pond Road? Perhaps some politician visited some East London opening of an envelope.

thats just plain unfreindly.

I agree... It was a little uncalled for... But i think he thought i was being sarcastic because i stepped into the street thinking i could get across before he was near but in fact he went behind me. So i think it was that he thought i was being a typical ped rather than a walkenger... I didnt mean to step into his path or insult him as a cyclist. Though i was fully aware of him and where he was and how much space we both had.

Bottom Bracket @ Rosebery Ave & Percival St, moaning about the weather.
adoubletap in a strange feral place.
A pair of mirror-like deep section rims on a balcony somewhere on/near Valance Road / New Road the other night. Very eye-catching.
