We're talking about Ironmonger Row I assume? Wellllll, it's funny you should ask as that's been the subject of some debate (in my head)this morning.
*[SKIP THIS BIT IF YOU JUST WANT THE ANSWER]The 5k I did in it this year was apparently 16 lengths further than last year. So it's either 33 metres in which case last year's time for 152 lengths was for only 4560 metres OR it's actually only 30 metres and this year's 168 lengths was correct and last year's time was artificially quick. *
Either way it means that this year's time at 4 minutes slower than last year wasn't a failure after all! My overall pace was in fact quicker! I've been thinking I went slower for months since I did it. It was only on starting training again this week (determined to right that wrong!) that I re-checked the times and realised I'd been duped![END OF RAMBLING DIGRESSION]
So yeah, sorry, it's *probably *30m, costs £3:40 I think. I pay a monthly membership of £20 ish (?) for unlimited swimming. It's the best pool I've found in London. Cool, clean water, double width lanes, and the extra few (5 or 8) metres makes a huge difference. I hate 25m pools as by the time you surface from a big kick off you're halfway down the pool.
Only mega bummer huge pain in the arse problem is that it's shutting down in May 2010 for a major redevelopment and not opening till some time in 2012. *weeps.
Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you'd been swimming in the pool in the hotel leisure centre.
Despite being within spitting distance of Ironmonger Row, my wife and I (although I rarely swim) prefer another local authority pool.

Tiwas, how is the water there? Cloudy or clear?
Does anyone here swim during wintertime at the Tooting Bec Lido at all? Wondered if I was getting a membership, but it might be too crazy. -

Jimbilly a couple of days ago on the way over London Bridge. Wotcha
Then yesterday, some weapon on a single speed with one brake riding really badly and almost getting killed by going up the inside of a bus before pulling slamming on the anchor and pulling out into the next lane without looking. Then he got shirty when I pointed out that he wasn't riding very well and was putting his life in danger. Fucker.

Mysterious. Can I ask which one?
-
• #20634
Cloudy? It's an indoor Local Authority pool. Not the original Seven Islands industrial area waterway.
Well, the last and only time I went to the Mile End pool it experienced water that somehow looked and felt like dilluted milk. YUK. Also the one on old ford road up in bethnal green wasn't pleasant either.
Arghh, wanna have a shower just thinking about it.

some geezer in dark clothes and ninja-esque bike last night heading south near the top of Cambridge Heath Road. Can't for the life of me remember what your bike was like, but i liked it at the time and wanted to show appreciation. I was the bloke on the bronze Carlton with bare drops and black helmet who (inexplicably, and to my utter, utter shame) winked at you as i headed north.
