tynan
BringMeMyFix You seem to have difficulty with language, particularly semantics
Maybe you are right !?
If you think I am way off the mark by interpreting "Maybe if you want to insult me you'd like to meet in person" as an implicit threat, what then do you think it means ?
It could mean:
i) I'd prefer you to level your criticism at me face to face as I'm more articulate verbally.
ii) Perhaps if you met me you'd realise how deeply your insults cut me, by reading my non-verbal language.
iii) Why don't we meet in a more private arena and thrash out our differences.
iv) I get immense sexual pleasure from feeling the hot breath of someone in my ear telling me what a dirty fucking bitch I am.
v) Possibly the fact that you make defammatory remarks about my person could be read as an encoded request just to meet up and have a drink.
vi) The way you insult me sounds like a veiled threat of violence, but that's going to be rendered impotent unless you get within arm's length of me.
vii) etc. -

Your list and its range of possible interpretations suggests you, like myself, also do not know what he means !
I think my guess was reasonable, I have asked him to clarify, he avoided that, so I will stick to my 'naive' notion that it was that very most dreadful of things the internet threat !!.

tynan
RPM what it says.
it's quite simple.
goodnight.
Yes, I thought so :)
"Maybe if you want to insult me you'd like to meet in person." = veiled threat.
RPM told you it was "exactly what it says" to me that means if you want to insult him then arrange a suitable place ( a pub/cafe equidistant your place of residence) and you can do it in person this way any misunderstandings can be avoided.
i don't think it was a threat just a suggestion as to help solve the problem of your misinterpretation of what other people say.
he didn't avoid clarification, after reiterating he just turned his computer off and went to bed. -

But I have not said I want to insult him ?

• #1993
but maybe you have weather you intended to or not? perhaps by posting pictures of him with a clowns face? i think most people would find that insulting?
there may be other instances but you seem to edit nearly all your posts. -

MrSmith but maybe you have wheather you intended to or not? perhaps by posting pictures of him with a clowns face?
Not intended as an insult and removed a few minutes ago.
Whether I have or have not insulted him (and I maintain I have not, at least intentionally) I see no point in meeting up in a pub to 'discuss' the controversial clown picture ? I see it as simply an implicit threat of the 'oh yeah, say that to my face' sort ?
I don't think that is an unreasonable interpretation ?
MrSmith there may be other instances but you seem to edit nearly all your posts.
There were no insults from me, just the clown picture.

Anyhow, as the basic points of the original conversation are now getting lost and conflated with various personal stuff - and everyone seems to be siding with Mr RPM and basically telling me where to go, I think I should take this as a clue (!) It is time to bow out while I am still behind before I take another beating !
Anyhow Camden is on fire and it's getting uncomfortably close ! I might go have a look.
So in summation:
1) My picture of Wayne's clown image pasted over RPMs photo was not intended as some grand gesture of disrespect and I thought it would be taken in the spirit it was meant - (it has been removed)
2) I don't think because a man chooses aerospok wheels (the origin of this conversation) he should be frowned upon or thought some how less or criticised in any way - it's just people on bikes to me.
3) I think it is fine to comment on your distaste for whatever pisses you off (other people's bicycles included) - I think it is also fine for people to respond to those comments and debate the basis for these issues.

i sided with no one.as you questioned peoples dislike for a certain thing people questioned your questioning...its never ending,so lets not start(again).

can you take this argument elsewhere, i.e not the spotted thread, maybe the 'silly arguments that make no sense' thread...

For the record, I almost bought the http://www.arrospok.com domain yesterday. Almost.
