You hear about it happening to other people but you never think it'll happen to you. Riding along Tavistock place after a couple of beers with my ex-workmates when I heard it. "Do a skid". I guess it's true; you'll never forget your first time.
Nice to meet you Joe Wang and your glamorous blonde companion. What blonde companion? joke understanding fail?

Good luck with that one.

She could conceivably have been spotted in Cycle Surgery, Holborn, too, as she was due to make a personal appearance there:

Skoota, yesterday deep in phone conversation outside Ryman's on TCR.
Pajamas riding along with a mystery blonde on Clerkenwell at lunch time today.
Was that Tika I saw later, somewhere or just some Tika-lookalike I freaked out by staring at?
Overdrive on Clerkenwell but that's like spotting a wig at a toupe convention.yeh, it's one of my standard 'jokes'.

Spotted a Brompton undertaking a blue on one. Pulled up next to the brompton, put on my best charm, and mentioned that, althought the on-one rider was paying attention and seemed a very competant rider, many other riders might not have noticed him on the inside and it would be safer not to pass someone this way.
He actually thanked me for the advise. It made my day.
Oh, this gives me hope! I'd given up giving people advice about undertaking, after all the abuse I got.

On Evelyn Street (SE London) towards Depford / Greenwich, a guy on a tall slim and elegant white Claude Buttler conversion with red grafics, red front rim, white tyre at the bike, I stayed behind you to protect me from the wind! Thank you!

Hello, sounds like me. Thursday evening? Were you on grey frame? I turned right, homewards, before the petrol station.
Was a windy evening, thanks.
Geoffrey Butler btw.

Ray on fixed and friend on a freewheeling white genocide down roseberry ave this afternoon.
i was pedding the pavement and you have never met me so it was pointless shouting 'Yo Fixie!', 'Skid you Hipster', 'FixieFixieFixieMotherfucker' or whatever salutation is currently 'in' with the fixed gear zeitgeist. -

Fruitbat handing me a dinged and grubby but still lovely Bob Jackson in Whitechapel.
Dinged, how dare you? Definately grubby though.
Good to meet you, and hope the BJ works out.
And before anyone asks, it was my 'other' Bob Jackson, not the 'banana' bike. -

Was it your 'banana' bike?
