nope - one of the three less fit looking bunch at the start. We headed off a few minutes late as someone else was supposed to arrive, but couldn't be arsed to get out of bed. Meant to join the slower group (which must have been out on the audax) anyway, couldn't catch you all at the lights, so did a nice 70k with one of the vets.

The Quest bunch took off quick today. Me and another bloke rode with them for the first time (on the long one anyway) a couple of weeks ago and the speed was way down.

I usually ride with the Willesden bunch when not doing something else but I think I might be sticking with the fast group now.

Nah, a mate has been a member for a bit, and suggested we go for a ride with them. Enjoyed it though, so think I'll be back (although it's no fun getting there). Had a quick chat with the other new guy (red cannondale) who said the quick group was doable - but clearly quite a pace today. Enjoyed the zip through Cookham, though.

Miles is the new guy with the 'dale. He's strong enough for the fast bunch but there was a big difference between today's pace and the last ride we did. Eg. my Powertap TSS (training stress score) for this week's ride was 597.3 with an Intensity Factor of 1.089 versus the ride two weeks ago with 287.6 / 0.809. The guys would (it seemed) just randomly hammer for a bit and then slow down.. repeat.. all day.. :) I think we dropped half the bunch.

In figures you might understand: 28.8kph for 126k versus 29.7kph for 150k. That's including my ride out there and back.

We took it nice and steady (the guy we were with had to watch his heart rate for health reasons). 24.5 kph for 70k... I think we spotted dropped (or peeled off) members of the bunch for the rest of the day.

One figure I should have paid more attention to: sunblock factor 15...
