I am tempted to post an awful picture of kittenXheel collaboration here but I think it'll get me perma-banned.

They are a low heel (around 30-40mm usually), which are cut in from the back of the shoe, tapering down the the heel-cap. The inset of the heel draws the eye in, to make the shoe look smaller and more elegant.
