is there a logo for the brick lane bike polo, because i could possibly russle up a stencil and bring some paint to decorate the wood with?
-
• #29
what kind of wood are you going to get? what is the hight going to be? it has to reasonably tall as it needs to be secured to the fence properly...i think cable ties are going to a lot cheaper then bolts and would do just as good job.

lets just go on a ride to pinch as many estate agent signs as we can. the corriflute can be secured with zip ties really easily.
(or i could pop down to decathlon and ask for their old promotional boards of corriflute)

Two options.
some tall skirting board about 5" high.
Get a sheet of 8' x 4' ply b&q do 3 cutts for free 50 p a cut there after cut into widths of say either8' long by 8 " high (6 strips) or 4 stips at 8' by12" high.
You Decide!

ahh i think the second idea is the best..we have some time before the big game,we could measure it all up

seemingly stupid question: does plywood get all fucked up if it gets wet? as in, if all these boards get wet, will they become warped and start to curl up on themselves, no longer providing a smooth surface for the ball to bounce off of?

don't forget guys for the tournament we are using court by columbia road one self contained court only 4 holes to block up thats where the lamppost's meet the tarmac it's a good court just may need sweeping before we start as there are loads of autumnal leaves dropping at the minute
less room for socialising but it's a one of and with the large number of peeps around that day we could set up a nice little area outside the court and in the park area
i don't think we need to build anything on the brick lane courts we'll be using that as usual on sundays and we only really need to block the edges i thin we have almost enough wood -

on the poster it says shacklewell?!?!?
-
• #37
yeah I thought so too.. makes more sense as right next to rich mix.

dicki don't forget guys for the tournament we are using court by columbia road
Who said that?
I am using the one we always use. Specifically for the socializing space, close proximity to Rich Mix and Maverik Showrooms where the artshow is at on the 17th.
(anyways, it's too late to change...) -

looks good - is the floor concrete?

TheBrick(Tommy) Would strips of boar not be easier or not solid enough?
Like in Asterix!
(Can't wait to get my ride sorted. Moving into a flat 10 mins away from Shacklewell.)

le car looks good - is the floor concrete?
yIt's that kind of very hard rubber floor where you don't crack you skull open when you land on it, like letting 5 or 10 psi out of your tyres.
Feels great to ride on.
-
• #45
if the door is opened and the lights are on we should try it one of these evenings..
-
• #46
skidding on that surface? rubber.. won't it burn your tyres down more?
-
• #47
more like rip up the stuff!
-
• #48
ooops sorry must have been mistaken then !!! i thought we were sounding out the columbia road court for the tournament as it is
a) self contained players only on the court no beers cans to knock over with the ball no people to ride around no people doing backwards circles to avoid
b) got lights so we can continue on into the evening
c) no gaps under the fence
d) no descernible slope
f) where did e go ???
g) symetrical
h) has a great area all around it for specatators a huge park for people to chill out in grass to sit on benches to stretch up against
....... i could go on !
so i will
lots of passing traffic so we should get some non cycling admirers -

dicki, that pretty much describes the Swiss cottage/Camden pitch, lights, no gaps, they built it perfectly level and symmetrical, has it's own park area that people sit around in, a posh café, a greasy café and a outdoors theatre bar (the back of Hampstead theatre) that all look onto the court and lots of passing traffic.
Although if the Columbia road court had got all this that sounds cool as well, especially because I don't live far from Columbia road and I am essentially a very lazy person.
