I walk up one lousy hill and everyone gets a picture of it.
Media manipulation, I say.

flickwg i'm thinking of handing him a bill
That's only fair. Public tranasport + ripped jeans + ripped gloves = Money I hadn't expected to need to spend this month.

i agree with stompy, lots of us lazed it up turners hill (myself included) and stompy stomped on and didn't get off, also note the gentleman he is he is carrying my bag

object i think you need to edit that quote, cite is wrong - roberto isn't handing him another bill

You do realise he is now called "50x14"
and if he comes back on this forum he MUST change his username to "50x14"
+1. absolutely. -

It's getting there, taking the week off cycling is probably the most sensible thing I've done all year too.
I'm going to try and make it down to polo on Sunday but I'm not promising I'll be back on my bike by then. -

There where only three really challenging hills on the way down to Brighton.
That one behind Croydon.
Turners Hill.
Ditchling.
I don't think I would like to ride the other way though. -

It's amazing the difference a lack of gears makes to the difficulty of the hills..

cheeky or evil???
i'll let you be the judge

I don't think I would like to ride the other way though. The one behind croydon was only becuase we were mocing at about 5 miles an hour when it started though. If we'd had a decent pace you'd have hardly felt it.

It was the worst one for me, but then the first hill of the day always is :)

I definitely learned a few things though. Like not taking everything I own in a courier bag for the just-in-case scenarios that didn't happen.
I suspect I need a smaller bag...Now where's Scottnotscot with those hip bags. -

MA3K's little camel back thing l;ooked good. Room for a jacket, tube, tools and water, some food and lock but not much else so you can't over fill it.

Whyteleafe Hill?
It's long and draggy, and I think it's worse when you don't necessarily know how long it's going to go on for. -

Whyteleafe Hill?
It's long and draggy, and I think it's worse when you don't necessarily know how long it's going to go on for.It was probably the best for me. Managing to get to the top without having to stop gave me a real confidence boost for the rest of the day; knowing that I was finally going to be able to ride up hills.
It's amazing that a litle change in technique and a few squats in the gym could make such a difference.
