^Merino Base Layers, yay. I had to buy a ladies top last time as all the men's had gone by 11.00.

Woah, those lights are knockoff/rebranded Moon Comets - excellent little lights.
-
• #455
I saw that, might pick some up.

And more merino long johns, loved mine last winter.

Anyone tried the beer?

Annoying how the majority of men's clothing only goes down to Medium sizing.
-
• #459
their sizing is pretty random in my experience

I hear that. I ended up buying a ladies jacket last time because the mens ones were so ill-fitting.

Nodder kit

Yep I bought the ladies shorts because a) Mens colour was shit b) fit better

Today's the day! Got the rents to pick me up some muc-off stuff, merino baselayer and some "premium" bike lights.
-

Whoops, just spent £90 in Aldi. I think that's a personal record.

Stopped in at OKR on the way in. Looked like they didn't have a lot of the stuff in yet?
Still dropped £75 on merinos and socks though! -

Cambridge Aldi was full of cyclists this morning. I got some "winter" gloves, which will probably do for autumn (#forevercold), lights and some nodder led reflective arm bands, which will keep my mum happy and unfortunately will be quite useful over winter as this city appears devoid of street lighting.

At the Knutsford branch the ravenous horde (of 1) demanding Garmins was told to check after this afternoon's delivery. I grabbed a pair of the LED-bar lights and some snacks and at the checkout found the branch actually had 4 Garmins in yesterday's delivery, the person in front of me having arranged in advance...
Garmin Edge 500, black, £80.
Wiggle price £119.

The winter gloves are great. I used mine pretty much everyday during autumn, winter, and spring, which is probably why they have holes in them now. I'm going to invest in a new pair and will get some of the "premium" lights, or w/e they are called. Will probably end up buying absolutely everything else when they start reducing it when it's on its way out.

There had been a rush on the lights at mine, got my mum to check other branches while she's out.

I'll probably stop off at the Trafford one on the way back, so will let you know my findings.

Knutsford had lots of the lights.
Brightness rating: ouch.
The side-visibility windows don't output much light because the LED bar is quite close to its window and there's nothing to channel the overspill to the sides (like how the LEDs on printer are generally mounted on the mainboard with plastic light channels ending at the casing).
The Mini-USB isn't aligned very well with the hole in the casing and the rubber flap only has a small pull tab and has no ridging or overlap, just relies on a flat interference fit for sealing.
The bar/post strap brackets have an extra pivot perpendicular to the bar/post, so handy for non-straight bars and slack/layback seatposts. The rear light also includes a saddle-rail bracket, but that doesn't have any rubber on the clamp and the screw goes into a plain recessed nut, no nyloc. The screw has a 3mm allen head.
3 brightness levels, constant or flash. Initial mode is always constant+lowest.

Woo. Got gloves and merino long johns at OKR.
Plenty jackets, and lights, but I have enough shit lights.
I think they're out of medium merino tops. -
• #473
Got some of the merino and the premium lights,
Happy enough with both. The merino stuff seems to be nicer quality than the top i got previously from aldi, the stitching seems better and the wool softer on this batch. That could change with washing though -

Still loads left at Newbury Park. Had to dig a bit for men's medium merino top though

Only the front premium lights left by the time I got to Old Kent Road, still that was what I was really after, may check the Catford store tomorrow unless someone here already knows they're out of rears?
Yep, fifteen quid a pop for merino base layers.
