Low quality pic suggests pad is still in the wrong place.
No idea how the fuck it got through last time. Did no one actually try them on?
Tried out a couple of items now the weather has got colder:
Compression top - doesn't wick properly, leading to wet patches that got cold.
Merino top - itchy, restrictive.

Hope they're better than the winter tights I got in the last round, wore them for the first time this morning and the rumour was right, pad is in the wrong place, the fit is bladdy shit.
A bit shabby?? I bought some last year too. The crotch was around my knees. People said I looked like Nora Batty.

Weather Proof gloves have been boss so far!

I've given them my email address so I get notified - I was going to try and grab a merino top, as although the Rapha one is amazing, 60 quid for a t-shirt is a bit much to spend each time. Are Aldi's really that bad?

+1 for this. Pretty breathable too, my hands don't feel like the Florida Everglades...

Are the gloves in the shops now?

In Evans retail training they taught me to tell customers who pick up black cycling gear but are put off by visibility, that it there have been scientific studies proving that black clothing actually creates the boldest outline and is therefore the best for visibility... or something along those lines.

My friend had a new rear mech attached to their bike by Evans and on changing gear for the first time on a short steep climb it ended up in their spokes.
Evans sold me a light that was shit and held water better than a sunken submarine.
In addition, Evans staff can't build or true a wheel properly. And your point is...?

I bought a Crane "workwear" base layer rather than the one marketed for cycling;
It's pretty good, has grippy seams so it doesn't work its way up, and has sections on the joints which they say are woven differently so as not to bunch up and get sweaty.
Seems fine so far. Black/ grey weave, mostly black, with yellow sticking and the inside looks grey.
Bought the Large, didn't try the medium, probably would have been best with an inbetween size, mine's not taut near the clavicles.

"3d technology" "performance airribs" "moisture zone": wow! much bollocks! many shit! so no!Being only marginally employed, I've tried just about every angle going to get kit on a budget.
After much fucking about and disappointment, I now just get (almost) everything from Prendas: it works as it should, the quality is first class and they offer absolutely the best service in the business. All of which they do at sub-Rapha prices.
Your Granny told you; your Mum told you; don't make me tell you: "buy cheap, buy twice".

I own
Crane winter gloves - I still prefer my soon to die Altura gloves but in the dead of cold they work fine.
Crane cycling tights with softshell thigh panel - wad up and put the chamoise seems right up in there, no drawstring, no foot strap but warm and windoproof as you like.
Commuter jacket - warm sweet even if it is blue
Commuter shorts - I bought the ladies* as I wanted black ones, the arse is wearing thin but that could be due to my suede turbo still have another pair when these give up. *Size 12 dont you know
Commuter socks - Erm I hate socks that stick up past the shoe so only wear when in me tights,
Rain coat - Light and packs away small enough, makes a nice sweat box even though it has vents.Cheap and works but I've just moved so my commute is 15 miles now so I'll report back in March

Commuter trousers are quite comfy and hit a nice balance of smart vs practical.
They have the reflective inside leg thing but I can't work out how to roll up without getting things caught in chains, normally I tuck into socks... csb

Yes, but we don't sit on the fence stating the obvious like you.
I used to buy the cycling stuff from Aldi, but the best cheap stuff is Decathlon. Alas, their marketing department has now decided to up the prices (on bikes too) so we shall see.
Also, the best base layers I have bought have been from the likes of Screwfix.
Oh, you can fuck off as well.

Does anyone use the Aldi gloves? I'm sure last year i found them fine all winter. I have been wearing them this week with a pair of cheap H & M gloves underneath and my fingers feel as though they may fall off!
Hope they're better than the winter tights I got in the last round, wore them for the first time this morning and the rumour was right, pad is in the wrong place, the fit is bladdy shit.
