Only when doing black/red routes on my mountain bike but never on the road. I don't like them but figure there is much more chance of a stack when off road.

Off road have more soft landings.

Off road have more soft landings.
Also when you crash its more likely to be at your own doing with only the motive force of your body.
When on the street, you most likely to be hit by a bus/car travelling at significant speed. Where youll be catupulted into the path of another vehicle or if your lucky, to the hard concrete.
I dont helmet, as of late. Used to, but didnt feel like it anymore. I feel riding without makes me more assertive and less prone to crash.

No, it doesn't. I didn't say it was all soft landings.

Hey if that works for you then great. I don't feel (or ride) any different riding with or without a helmet.

Interesting, why do you sometimes feel like wearing one?

if i'm riding into town/around town going to the pub or just generally going about my business, in my normal clothes, i don't bother.
when i'm on my geared road bike, all lycra'd up and actually going for a training ride, i do.
don't know why. vanity? can't be bothered to take it off and put it on again all the time? who knows! i've never really thought about it before.

^^^ Godzilla has to be one of the first things in the last year that's made me want to wear a helmut again. Does it come with a tail and claws?
-

I'm gonna stop trying to understand why ppl don't wear them.
If I've got my normal clothes on I don't wear my seatbelt but if I'm in my driving suit I wear it.
-

i find i drive better without a seatbelt and that makes me less likely to be hit by a truck.
-

Respect. Also I go faster without the seatbelt (which totally ruins my aerodynamics).

Good points, those men...
It's still a personal choice, though. And I like it that way.

Seriously though, that seems to me like some pseudo science rambling.
