No, but I am (half) German.
I have been in the same place as Oliver at the same time, but whether anyone can vouch for that is another matter.
If you admit to having been in the same place as me, you only strengthen the case of those who claim that we are the same person. ;)

Decided to revive this thread.
Helmets do work. It's a private choice to wear one or not, but saying that they don't do their job is a hipster propaganda.

Ouch. Did you just fall today or is that an old pic?
I always ride on the road with my helmet although I'm not sure how effective it will be agaisnt a vehicle weighing 2 tonnes or so.
Eevery little helps though.

More than a month ago. Basically I fell head first, dislocated few joints, broke one hand and fractured two ribs. What's important - I haven't smashed my skull and it looks like I would if I was wearing Campagnolo cap for protection :-)
Still have visible scars on the side of my face. One from that stupid plastic clip on the strap of my helmet which embedded itself in my chin (they have rework that solution!). I didn't shave for a month, but it was a small price to pay. -

What on earth happened? did you get hit?

The Wests happened to me, Ed :-)
Adjusting the Crud mudguard at full speed after few pints is a stupid stupid idea... -
• #1962
Was just going to say wests happened to him

Yeah, DJ is few levels higher than me in that game.

Ouch. Atleast your skull is okay but the rest sill sounded very painful. I guess it's best to stay over someone's house when drunk.

Dancing James was way of my league and he was only one to offer.
Anyway, sober or not - wear a helmet. Even on a short trip down the Brick Lane, because you never know. And it proved itself as a great protection in case of a thug attack too (if you are from Dalston:-)).

I live in Hackney Wick so yes :p Although I don't think a bicycle helmet will help unless they are about 8 foot tall :p
I have a cheap helmet for now. Better than nothing. Night night mate

Ouch dude!, That's why you've been so 'quiet' lately....** farking hell**!! ..(ahahah!... had to lol there, sorry).
I crashed already, really badly... and I was off my face, no helmet.
Biggest damage = my face.Ironically, I'm selling the only helmet I've had lately, but that's only cause I want to buy
something that suits me, rather than something I like, which was the case.... I know, fail on me. -

Are they stupid or do they simply know something I don't?
I realise helmets are cumbersome, mostly make you look stupid and are annoying to lug around but I'd much rather a lump of plastic and Styrofoam smacked into the road/bus/ped than my cranium.
What's the deal?

It's probably a bit late for that and I'm not sure anyone knows where the torso is.
