Mrsmyth and I saw him as we were doing our laps, we were going at a gentle pace.

Did see a Benton/Fenton in reverse moment of a dog being chased by deer.

ben, I've got an XL ally road frame that was destined for dammit turbo-mule duty, you can have it if you want something to get you back riding until a replacement is lined up? just bit of groupset transplanting required. although maybe you have alternative road bike anyway. I can't remember.

ben, I've got an XL ally road frame that was destined for dammit turbo-mule duty, you can have it if you want something to get you back riding until a replacement is lined up? just bit of groupset transplanting required. although maybe you have alternative road bike anyway. I can't remember.

I've got a Pinarello compact crankset, some ITM road bars and front and rear 105 mechs knocking around if that helps move the build on Ben!

Gary and I rode past a parked car, there was a tall chap standing next to it.

We stopped to see if we could help and to have a chat with birthday boy. He was very clear, calm and humorous about the situation but we both (along with the driver and a witness) all insisted he ought to go to hospital to be checked out.

We stayed for a a while and then set off at a gentle pace for training laps. When we came back round the police and ambulance services were in attendance.

They all thought he was in ok condition but that an x-ray was probably safest and to check that nothing else was damaged.

The car in front had stopped because there was a herd of deer moving around close to the roadside. He had been cycling heads down trying to get a sub hour 3 laps, and just did not see that the car had stopped.

As he put it, thankfully the car was a Clio and had no sharp corners. The driver was really nice about the incident and did not want to make a fuss about her damaged rear light.

Sounds just like my crash on London Bridge a few weeks ago except substitute bus for deer and Golf for Clio.

Hey guys thanks for all the messages. Thankfully I managed to escape reasonably unscathed with a nice bruise on my right eye and some minor scratches etc down rest of my right side. Amazing really as I hit it at a fair whack, I can check the Garmin to find out the pace lol!

Tom thanks for the offer but I've got my Benotto for pootling about to work etc. but I'll be on the lookout for some BB30 compatible Crabon pretty sharpish, might see if I've enough for a Canyon.
