Afaik it is a fixed penalty fine. The Royal Parks are one of the few places where road speed limits apply to non-motorised traffic, so you can be done for speeding, but wish the cops would focus on cars speeding as well as dangerous aggression towards cyclists.

Like I asked somewhere earlier in this thread, what would actually happen if you were caught?
I suppose it can be fined under either *"dangerous cycling"*or "wanton and furious cycling".

Well tonight proves that white bar tape and joy division definitely make you faster. Shaved two minutes off. Beautiful misty night, very exhilarating plunging into the darkness under the trees and just holding on for dear life, especially with 'she's lost control' pumping in my earphones. A little disappoited not to gain a position, but heck who's counting.

59:39 yesterday. Geared. Second lap should have been faster but got spooked by a police car. Big ring all the way on the third. Flappy forks on descents.

Took the pompino to RP for a go at this today, but kind of lost motivation after spinning out on the descents during lap 1. Then decided to keep going for some kind of benchmark and finished in 1:07:22. 48x18 too low really, so will have a go at either gearing up or taking the road bike before adding myself to the list.

Had my first crack at this. Hungover as shit and the wind was pretty bad. Final lap was a traffic nightmare. Quite happy with my time though, will eat some spinach and crack 1hr next time.

I'm going to set the first CX bike time.
I knew that they used to be policed by a special force, but in 2005 it was absorbed by the Met. I didn't know they had special rules on speeding though.
