you're doing it wrong, if you take really tight lines you can shave off half a mile.

...i did 4 laps geared yesterday: 2nd lap in approx. 19 minutes, 3rd lap 22 minutes, 4th lap just enjoyed meself.
Havent ridden geared for a while....fkcing flew down everything!! and free-wheeling was scary....
Later I did 2.5 slow fixed laps.

its 6.7 miles on the road.

I thought it was 7.25 or 7.5mi? Oh well..

manged a 20.58 lap today, could go a bit quicker as there was a bit of a headwind and i had to stop at 2 of the roundabouts, could probably take 30-40 seconds off but down to 19min! no way. thats shaved leg and pain territory, and possibly drugs.

the standard pista post isn't carbon, you can upgrade to carbon for 20 quid, or go for the alu Thomson for 60 quid..

guess he had the carbon upgrade

you can buy thomson's for £45, the condor one isn't actually carbon but 'composite' with a carbon wrap it's made by Token and is rebadged for lot's of manufacturers it's a nice post though.
it's perfectly acceptable to supply your own bit's just check they take some money off, (i brought mine without a saddle as i had a brooks).

my new post is an easton ec-90 it's all carbon even the clamp! thankfully the bolt is made of metal.

I never really go above 13 stone. but have the saddle pushed right back and the clamp might get some abuse. I'm sure the composite/carbon wrap will be fine.
