The Richmond Park 3-Lap Challenge

There were temporary traffic lights at roadworks next to the car park by Robin Hood Gate yesterday lunchtime. Anti-clockwise lane blocked only for a stretch of 10 yards or so, but enough to bring you to a stop if the lights are against you and there's oncoming traffic.

I got lucky on lap one, amber-gambled on lap 2 and then held up for 2 or 3 seconds (for oncoming cars to clear) before RLJ-ing on lap 3.

Road had been dug up but it might have been filled already. Any reports more recent than afternoon of Monday 1st July?

What time do I need to get there tomorrow to avoid the clusterfuck? Am thinking 9am, is that optimistic?

Balls. I overslept. Going to go, fingers crossed it's not too busy!

I was there 7.45 to 8.45, coming back Priory Road looked like sportive was arriving and through Putney there was a rider every 50m. Insane.

I must have missed them, was indeed very busy though. Spent much of lap 2 and 3 waiting for horses and schoolchildren to cross the road. I also half fainting in lap 3 due to having a cold+dehydration+heat, nice little stint on the grass for me.

Regardless, knocked just over a minute off my last time so not too bad. Sub 59 in the next 3 weeks hopefully.

I've been waiting a while to get under an hour before posting, and finally did today. I nearly destroyed myself in the heat but caught onto two fast riders at the start of my 2nd lap and forcing myself to keep up with them really helped, then I had 22 mins to get the 3rd lap under 1hr so really went for it. I had to lie down for a few mins at the end in the grass but am a contented man this evening

Is there an official segment we are using? I'm sure there is, but I can't be bothered to search the thread.

I'm not sure there is. One of Strava's problems is there is approximately one million versions of each segment!
